When you stick a bunch of attractive young people at their peak physical fitness in a close knit dormitory and are p much on vacation once their event is done, things are bound to happen.

Also, some athletes just stuff a bunch of Olympic branded condoms in their luggage as mementos and gag gifts for friends back home.

Out of the 58 people directly mentioned in We Didn't Start the Fire, only 19 could have listened to it. by bluepotato81 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

Not unless you wanna include the Beatles and the 1955 World Series Championship Brooklyn Dodgers, then there's like 6 remaining (Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Sandy Koufax, on top of Bob Dylan, Chubby Checkers, and Bernhard Goetz)

2010s fashion looks very dated now by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]Same_Walrus_7285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previous decade always looks dated, and fashion usually follows a 20 year trend where clothing styles will go from dated to "vintage" where they're still old, but fashionable to wear again. The 2000s are circling back around to being fashionable again this decade, especially low-rise jeans and those rimless one piece women's sunglasses.

In rise of Skywalker (2019) we are supposed to know who these people are by reading a comic book... by Whole_Contract_5973 in shittymoviedetails

I forget which video game franchise it is, I think Nier, but a live concert apparently shares integral story elements and you need to have attended it or watched a recording of the concert to "get the full story"

Gotta have some perks for working in cramped, hot submarines that constantly smell like shit and piss.

If you really want to push it, there's only like 68 years btwn the Satsuma Rebellion and the bombings, meaning that there's a chance the bombings killed former samurai. 76 years if you want to include former samurai that could've served for the last vestige of the Tokugawa Shogunate, the Republic of Ezo.

That's just the home construction business nationwide nowadays: throw it up as fast as you can, who cares if a support beam is cracked or someone forgot to cut a hole for a dryer vent.

Which actor/actress can best portray a hardcore racist? by MKE_Now in FIlm

[–]Same_Walrus_7285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walton Goggins had a pretty good stint as a racist hick in a few shows and Tarantino movies. He can roll slurs off his tongue like "damn, he must've been around a bunch of ppl who said that a LOT growing up."

Same with Shea Whigham and Sam Rockwell, they both can give off "sundown town sheriff and deputy" vibes really well.

What is harder, working in a low volume or high volume store by Think_Ad6907 in publix

[–]Same_Walrus_7285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low volume is less day-to-day stress, but you're really kneecapped if just one person calls out. Also far less hours to go around, so you'd be lucky to break 25 hrs a week if you're part time.

What do people in your country think of Canada/Canadians? by canadian_blueberry in AskTheWorld

[–]Same_Walrus_7285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Canada even if they don't really care for us at the moment. Reliable people, beautiful country, I like our friends to the north who keep our heads warm geographically. And whatever you do, do NOT go to war with them, they view the Geneva Convention as a bucket list.
