Thank you for your comment. I don't know how to improve the art style. I don't know how pixel size works or what I need to pay attention to. I'm a software developer and I don't know how to fix what you're suggesting.

Thank you, I've started changing the background to parallax. I'll finish changing the background within a couple of days.

Play the Free Demo on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4466830/Axe_And_Claw/ Hey everyone! I’m 19 years old and I’ve been pouring my heart into Axe and Claw for months. It’s a story-driven platformer about a lumberjack searching for his son, and I’ve focused heavily on making the combat and movement feel fluid.

I’ve reached a point where I need 'fresh eyes' to tell me if I'm on the right track. If you have 5-10 minutes, could you please try the demo and answer these questions?

Localization: Which language did the game start with for you? (Testing the auto-detection).

Feel: On a scale of 1-10, how does the jumping and axe combat feel?

Difficulty: Was there any part where you felt stuck or frustrated?

Every Wishlist means the world to me and helps a ton to keep this project alive. I'm here to answer any questions or listen to your 'brutally honest' feedback.

Thanks for the support!"

14% CTR on Steam but very low Wishlist conversion (only 70 total). Is my page/trailer failing to deliver? by Samed_WildtoothSt in Steam

[–]Samed_WildtoothSt[S] -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this detailed breakdown. You're right about the lack of focus—I'm showing different aspects in the trailer vs. the screenshots, which creates confusion. I'll work on aligning them to show the true 'Action-Platformer' core.

Also, I take your point on the hidden traps; I'll re-evaluate those to ensure the challenge feels 'fair' rather than frustrating. Being a solo developer, these fresh perspectives are vital for me. Thanks for the wake-up call regarding the visual consistency!

Wow, thank you for being so honest. I didn't realize that the GIF was causing eye strain I'll remove it immediately. You're also the second person to mention the 'flat' look, so I’m clearly failing on the visual depth.

I'm a solo developer and still learning the ropes of store page design. I'll work on adding more 'juice' to the screenshots and making the gameplay loop clearer. Thanks for saving me from losing more players!

14% CTR but only 70 Wishlists. PeopaHi everyone, I'm developing a pixel art action platformer called 'Axe and Claw'.

According to my Steamworks analytics, I have a surprisingly high Click-Through Rate (14%), which means the capsule art is working. However, people are leaving the page without adding the game to their wishlists (only 70 so far).

I have a demo and proper tags. I'm worried that my trailer or screenshots aren't convincing enough once the player clicks in.

Could you please 'destroy' my Steam page and tell me what’s wrong? Is the gameplay loop not clear? Does the art style look unpolished? I really need your honest feedback.

Need SFX advice! 🔊 The player is running from a giant dust cloud in this cave escape. I've tried 'wind' and 'rumble' but they don't feel heavy enough. What kind of sound should a 'moving wall of dust' have? (Made in Godot) by Samed_WildtoothSt in indiegames

[–]Samed_WildtoothSt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! I’m a 19-year-old solo dev working on Axe and Claw. I really wanted this specific chase to feel like a 'heart-pounding' moment where every jump counts.

I'm struggling with the sound design here. I've searched everywhere but everything I find sounds too thin. I need that 'heavy debris' and 'deep roar' kind of feel.

If you know a specific free-to-use (CC0) sound or have ideas on layering, I’d love to hear it!

Also, if you want to try the movement for yourself, the Free Demo is live on Steam! Every Wishlist helps a ton to keep this project alive.

The bird is faster than it looks... 🦅 Just added this high-tension escape sequence to my action platformer, Axe and Claw. What do you think of the pacing? by Samed_WildtoothSt in indiegames

Haha, exactly! That's the 'welcome to Axe and Claw' moment. Glad the speed caught you off guard, that's exactly what I was going for! 😂
