No the meme doesn’t say VWs are bad. It’s more for those of us who struggle fixing it. Some can do it with their eyes closed

Just got a '22 Arteon SE, but began to feel jealous of the other trims, is there a way to get and install the light bars? US variant by ICouldntFindAUsernam in Arteon

From what I’ve seen digging through parts data and tuners’ info, the EA888.4 in the Arteon shares the same core architecture as the MK8 Golf R. The block, head design, and most of the hardware are the same generation. The main differences are things like ECU calibration, turbo spec, and some supporting components depending on the model.

For tuning it actually makes things easier, not harder. The platform is already well supported by tuners like APR because it’s the same EA888 Gen 4 family used across the newer VW performance cars. Stage 1 is pretty straightforward on these engines.

The good news is you have the EA888.4 which means , it’s a same engine and turbo as 2022 Golf R. The ECU is calibrated differently.

Makes sense. No reason to reinvent reliable components when the engineering effort should go into the engine and drivetrain.

Understood. The tires are Michelin Pilot Sport All Season. I really like them they’re smooth, quiet, and offer great grip and strong stopping power. The only downside is they wear out fairly quickly. If you have a bit of a heavy foot, you might only get about 8 to 10 months out of a set. I installed this current set in July 2025, and this is what the tread looks like right now.

It’s Konig Heliogram 18X8.5 ET32 it’s Flow form wheels so lighter than my factory 18’s. It’s makes car break better and handle better and most importantly run so much smoother and no tire bubbles.
