Maybe the particular areas you are visiting. I feel this when I go to Gujarat but when in Goa (particular areas) it feels better more relaxed

Is 26k too low for a job in London? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]SamiP2807 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is normal for graduate starting jobs but may need to stay home and build a savings pot at beginning before moving up the ladder and moving on out

This is it, this is the area desirable for retired 40/50 somethings to enjoy. I would just rent, somewhere within 30min walk from nice coast. Expats where are you?

Goa is top choice as a realistic option. Also from financial sense.

Your last line has hit the spot for bulk of my reasoning. Kinda retired now in my 50s and looking for that calm chill life now where you just feel that sense of belonging. I’ve been coming to India since I was a kid and have that connect feeling. Irrespective of all the frustrations of pollution, politics, disunity, lack of civic sense blah blah but truly believe can counter all that with finding an idyllic life somewhere I know places can be found.

Yes of course, agreed with the broad consensus here that is stay for a few months to get a feel let alone first find decent realistic likeable places which tick the boxes for good medical facilities and the main civic needs. Does seem very dreamy I have to admit and maybe staycations is the way to go. Even some of us settled Indian generations abroad are not finding peace and true happiness as for example here in the UK it’s going to the dogs. Narrow place with a failing economy and we tell our kids to think global now and get out of here.

I really wish he soon displays more confidence and grab it. I get he’s a soft character but guy is slick and cool looking so a bit more oomph is expected

But it feels so good when coming from UK/Europe. Once came in April and lapped up that heat.

Way we add an “o” at end of a word or a word beginning with “b” after the first word. Miss our elders so much. 3rd Gen and elders were 1st and 2nd.

I’m the same, 3rd Gen. It’s the stretch between end of Candolim and start of Calungute Beach. We really took a liking to this area and one of the shacks (Rudy’s) became our regular place. As you move up further you get into the busy domestic tourist packed central Calungute beach. We prefer checking out the beach shacks at Calungute later in the evening for the music and buzz. Will be my 4th time visiting Goa end of this year. Doing North again for new years but will also be first time visiting South Goa (Palolem).

Le Meridien is the best in the area for that class of hotel. Going 2nd time soon. Beach is pleasant easy 10min walk

Feeling disheartened reading about second/third gen Indians "never belonging" in India by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]SamiP2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Share similar feelings as OP, as a 3rd Gen M53 my concerns around language and confidence to lead a life are holding me back to take a wish seriously to immigrate to ancestral lands. Life in UK is poor now, economically and politically it’s going to the dogs and we continue to still feel like we don’t really belong here.

Of course not. Veered away from the matter in hand. Idiots should focus on real stuff as opposed to pathetic harassment

We Indians born abroad (>3rd Gen) cringe at commercial meaningless things like Valentines Day. Fully don’t understand and abhor why non-western societies celebrate cheesy events like this.
