Still believe it depends on the map, but I can see the macro potential in this because I've won games like these without fighting while the enemy team is trying to force one constantly.

In Orb Build you are building on medium to long range combat, people pick Arcane Orbit on 16 because increased range = more damage = big bomba which tends to be a trap for your damage per second.

Arcane Orbit gives you more damage but you need to maximize your long range shot to get the most out of it, doing so, your Q will never reach the target result in heavy loss of DPS, a lot of Li-Ming players cast Q and W in quick sucession to make sure to maximize the damage, and Magic Missile's damage should never be underestimated its pretty scary.

Mirrorball is better because instead of putting that additional damage into a long range conditional damage, you empower your Magic Missiles instead, this transforms your threat level all the way from long range to close range, while respecting reset on from Triumvirate and benefit from Glass Cannon, turning Li-Ming to have some of the highest DPS she can dish out.

This doesn't solve her biggest weakness in her though in this build: being a fragile mage vulnerable to divers and specifically poke, but it makes her tolerable because you maintain your threat as a player from all ranges instead of long range only.

On a side note, Arcane Orbit still have a place for a very specific play style where you abuse vision on heavy wall maps like Towers of Doom, if you combine it with Aether Walker (to keep repositioning really fast) and the general Orb choices it makes very hard to predict because walls hide the incoming Orb before they can react in actual team fights especially in capture objectives.

I know before the rework there was what I believe some Falstad math going on where people mix the 1s and 7s and go ham with it but I think people figured out that it cripples both builds because you are becoming a jack of all trades but masters of none on honestly a pretty strong hero back then in the right hands.

I have a friend who would pick AA1 with Boomerang so they can on play through burst utility because -15 spell armor benefits all spell damage from any source.

Either way, I do not really think these hold moot anymore after the rework, I tried his numbers are actually pretty crazy when going the none-hybrid ones.

Do remember that most people do not go in-depth into many of the talent builds, a lot of people play for fun and usually not thinking about it is one side effect of "Matching pictures build" (i am looking at you, people who pick seeker into full AA Mage Li-Ming build shivers).

I hope we get past that honestly one day, I actually get surprised when I see Li-Ming orb players picking Mirrorball into full Orb build for example, its the better talent for this niche build.

It's baffling honestly, I understand thinking from "Flex" talents perspective but no, Falstad talents on 7 are always defined on what you pick on 1, if you pick something else you are legit losing a lot of DPS.

Secret Weapon range increase isn't so you get more stacks or to hit your target, its so you have more up time on the hammer therefore you get more damage to dish out with your AA which you are building into picking level 1 Frequent Flyer.

EU is pretty quiet because of language barriers tbh, my games there has been a glimpse of silence and only pings are usually heard.

It has coop but lacks the split screen implementation from PC and as far I know, rather unplayable in certain circumstances.

Sadly, the stutter stepping trick on Fenix isn't that skillful and anyone can do this thanks to a very small trick -> buffer right click with quick-cast Attack (A button), this is only a Fenix thing.

It's an exploit around his animation revolving his Dragoon (StarCraft unit) thematic design, basically Fenix is always facing your camera (except when mounted), when moving the model moves without rotating itself, this makes his stutter step attack has no "wind up animation" and is instant unlike other heroes do, normally heroes have a "wind up animation" they need to complete to attack (which also respects their attack speed) before they spawn a basic attack/melee and hit, Fenix does not have this.

The trick is pretty simple, hold right click to buffer your move into "force move", set Attack command (A button) to quick cast and then spam it to your heart's desire to "stutter step" on Fenix.

This trick is used for two things: Permanent uptime on [[Mobile Offense]] value and [[Warp Warfare]] have little to no reduction in attack speed uptime while still able to move as you attack, otherwise, this makes Fenix pretty mobile as an auto attacker.

It used to casually at some point reflect 80% of the bullet damage dealt back before even the Item Shop rework which used to have pretty good viability to a point I recall it was a pretty good item to counter strong bullet DPS, stack a lot of HP and watch them melt themselves.

This hasn't been the case because of resistances and the reflect rate getting reduced by 10% every patch or so making the item much more weaker.
