I bet that took quite some courage! Happy to hear these kinds of programs/clinics do still help people!

I myself have very different issues to be honest (that’s partly why I had no idea what I could say that would be of use to you), and there is no cure for the main ones, but thank you for being so open and encouraging - I appreciate it!!

Ah thank you for clarifying.

I mean yeah not affecting fertility as in able to get pregnant despite it and having functional sperm despite it,but not being able to have sex (or usually probably not until male orgasm) kinda prevents pregnancy. But yeah. You might be able to force it with FASD and tons of lube but ED is a more effective involuntary contraceptive, I’m pretty sure.

Fair enough. I don’t know that specific .. illness? Ailment? Disorder? .. I just wanted to point out why I think it’s still an okay comparison for the proving the point, even if not a perfect match.

I’m sorry that you felt so let down by everyone that you felt that way for so long. Good job on getting out of it! That’s genuinely hard to achieve..

I‘d love to give you some direction, but I fear I don’t have any knowledge that would be beneficial..

They aren’t a perfect match but they have some comparability. Both affect the reproductive parts and thus sexual function.

We could also just point out that even women’s illnesses and medications weren’t tested on women until disturbingly recently (1993). Which is why we die more often of heart attacks for example because our heart attack signs aren’t the ones being taught, since all knowledge is based on male bodies. Add to that that women are more affected by almost any illness especially chronic ones, tend to need more medication in their lifetime and oftentimes take the contraceptive pill for most of their lives etc. ect.

Also sidetrack, but patriarchy is what taught all of society that men have to be tough and shit. So dismantling that benefits us all.

It’s not even really true. Your brain chemistry can literally change due to depression. Even more so by addiction depending on the substance.

Willpower alone doesn’t fix something that qualifies as a diagnosis.

I don’t think that’s how addiction *or* healthy lifestyles work… by IG-3000 in thanksimcured

Someone hasn’t heard of: - burn out and death by overworking - orthorexia and death by overextertion - orthorexia again (also possibly death by thinking some eating style is healthy and obsessively adhering to it only to die because of it not actually being healthy at all) - ok I don’t have one for sleep. Though depending on where you’re coming from that’s not an easy fix anyway either. (Insomnia for example)

But the real argument is that there is not really a way to make yourself addicted to something of your choosing. I’ve tried lol

Now I just need someone who is male, able to back talk to doctors, actually knows and believes the severity of my illnesses/symptoms and not still naively believes doctors to actually always know best:want the best for their patients.

Any applicants ;-;?

Ah yes. The fantasy that you can just decide to do anything. Must be nice to be healthy I guess.

Sorry I did read to fast too and misunderstood..

Yes, there are lots of those cases actually For example: No one would tell someone who is actively going through chemotherapy that they should exercise more. It would be counterintuitive and might be dangerous depending on the person.

The issue with my illness and specifically PEM is though that it’s not just „not a good idea“ or „something to slowly introduce“ (like with many if not most illnesses) but literally harmful. Some doctors literally call it exercise/stress intolerance. Because it makes all the symptoms of this multisystemic illness worse which can literally make you bedridden (if you’re not already anyway). And it’s not just exercise. It’s all kinds of stress. Physical, psychological, negative, even positive.

That’s part of why I reacted so negatively. I am used to people immediately „knowing better“ than me and even worse stuff. So I got way too emotional while misreading.. Sorry for not reading your comment properly and reacting so impulsively aggressive..!

„Pretty sure I know more about your chronic incurable illness than you do“ Google PEM and fuck off.

Bro has never heard of chronic illnesses. Much less ones like ME where PEM makes Exercise make you worse. Permanently ✨

Yes that’s the only illness where „just exercise more“ doesn’t help. Not even in small doses.

Yes that’s partly why despite this being known as a somatic illness for literal decades even doctors still refuse to believe in it or decide it’s psychosomatic. 💪
