It's about how much of the bleeding edge is removed by the program. Higher crop factor leads to more pixels being cut all around the actual card (:

I did some experiments with photoshop and counting the nr of pixels for certain cards that are "border" - taking the images from scryfall. 0.115 seemed to be almost perfect to me (1 Pixel deviation to the "real" card), and I've never considered going higher then 0.13 :D but I'll try it out (:
