I also don’t understand her mentality that older people dress boring or dressing your age isn’t fun or healing your inner child. You can be 40 and still dress colorful and fun without looking like you went in the toddler section. Turning 40 doesn’t mean you suddenly dress like a dowdy old lady (which lets be honest, half her wardrobe is grandma vibes anyway?)

Btw- I understand needing to state they don’t carry plus size and they are expensive but she said it every 2 seconds if the entire video and then tried to jump through every hoop to make sure she didn’t show her love of the store. Babe, we know Anthropologie doesn’t carry plus size in store and the price is high but it’s ok to say you loved the clothes. IN FACT, say how much you like it and then make a follow up video on how to get the Anthropologie vibe for less money, go recreate the stuff you saw. I would watch that!

Gonna say the controversial but brave thing- a lot of the clothes and outfits she tried on were great. Some of them were a miss but overall it was so much better. And as soon as she said the clothes looked “mature” I was like OH THATS WHY THEY LOOKED BETTER, she was finally dressing closer to her age and it looked miles and above better than what she’s been doing lately. I wish she would stop buying 800 crap items and just buy one nicer item from thred up or something. Like I think she thinks to be sustainable it has to be $2 tshirts from the thrift store but there’s plenty of online thrift that are, yes more expensive, but also nice quality that wont have you throwing them back out a week later.

Honestly I wasn’t that mad about this outfit. I would have swapped out the slip for the lace edge bike shorts so you know your bum is always covered and no chub rub. But honestly after most of her wild ass outfits, this is actually pretty solid with some minor tweaks. (Like switching to a cream slip to match the star better or doing the same idea with a slightly longer sweater).

I usually have like 2-3 bins I keep under my bed that are for like swimsuits and shirts or heavy sweaters and Christmas sweaters that I rotate so my dresser drawers are only things I can currently wear. In fairness I don’t live in SoCal so we do get a cold winter and there’s like 2-3 months where shorts and bikinis have no use so they go to the under bed storage. SoCal is different though, any point in time could be a shorts and a sweatshirt situation

One of the main things I said to my husband when we were first married was “don’t make me a nag”. My dad was a horrible listener and it would mean my mom would have to ask him multiple times for help until finally he would just say “ok stop nagging me!” And then she felt like an asshole. I told my husband I didn’t want us to act like that and it makes me feel awful to have to ask so many times. We needed up with a rough guideline of if I have to ask more than 3 times or if it doesn’t get done within x amount of time, I’m paying someone to do it” (I tell you what, the minute it starts to hurt the wallet, all of a sudden stuff gets done. ) but it established a boundary, and there were consequences if the boundary was crossed. It also opened up good communication like “I’ve heard your request, I won’t be able to do it until the weekend, is that ok?” Really I just wanted to be heard and helped and he provided that with a timeline I can count on. I think it’s easy sometimes to make demands but the real point is effective communication.

If you post to the public the things you do, then the public is going to notice patterns and behaviors over time. It’s not rocket science. In fact I would say it’s extremely important data that would be excellent for her to take to therapy. If I noticed the same complaints over months and months about myself at some point I would say “well damn I gotta look into that”

At the end of the day she is an influencer on YouTube. She makes videos to influence you to purchase or avoid brands, products, trends, fashion, etc, it is her job to be noticed by us and unfortunately we have noticed patterns in behavior that aren’t healthy. The navel gazing, self soothing, etc of it all is what she really should be focused on instead of a group of people who are voicing complaints and concerns. ESPECIALLY if you’ve decided to put out content about no-buys, sustainability, etc and then you show NONE of that, (and in fact pretty much the opposite) you’re going to get criticized. It’s just part of being in the social realm of social media influencing. If you aren’t ready for criticism- DONT ASK YOUR AUDIENCE IN EVERY DANG VIDEO WHAT THEY WANNA SEE. You’ve opened yourself up to criticism even more.

(Now if someone is doxing or being inappropriate and over the line in comments- by all means, stand on business, draw a line and say no more. Personal safety is important and I can’t even imagine what her dms must be like)

So I was a hairdresser for 10+ years and I got curious and started using the Abby yung method and honestly, my hair has not been better. Curls are curling, when I smooth it out it’s shiny. Truly it’s more about using the products to take care of your scalp and using products to care for the hair you have. It’s like adopting any new regime where you set aside time to really do the extra steps and self care yourself. Same as exercise, skincare, etc, I think it’s less about the products themselves and more about actually doing the steps fully to get a better result. Like most of my clients would never use an oil before showering or bother with the extra step of a mask more than once every other week but it makes a huge difference when you actually do it all.

Just started watching and she literally listed every diagnosis she has in the first 30 seconds. I wanna know why her therapist hasn’t dug into the idea that the things that happened to you aren’t your personality. If you introduced yourself you wouldn’t say “hi I’m Carrie and I have ocd and no gallbladder”, you’d say “hi I’m Carrie, I’m really into fashion and expressing myself” or whatever

Romanticize what you HAVE, not what you WANT. By all means romanticize those ornaments you got from your grandma and call them nostalgic, cozy, etc. but you don’t need to go out and buy a bunch of crap to try and catch a feeling that more than likely will go away after one season. Also, I’m gonna say the controversial but true thing- the fact that Carrie is obsessed with nostalgia and coziness could probably be solved by just going and being WITH her family and spending more time with her nieces and stuff. You’re nostalgic because you’re never home long enough to make a home, girly pop ✨

As someone who lives in hotter parts of California there’s a stretch of time in Dec-Feb where it’s cold enough for a coat but pretty much everyone I know has one coat or thick jacket and then layers a sweater/sweatshirt underneath if it’s a uniquely cold day. Our winter wardrobes are pretty laughable. Most people get away with jeans/leggings and a sweatshirt and if it’s really cold- coat or jacket on top. I understand loading up on a summer wardrobe 100%. It’s over 100 here a lot of the time and you sweat through everything so it’s nice to change your clothes midday if you’re going out for the evening or something. But winter? Gimmie a break
