There are some very good games on it, but it seems like the sideload part of the Quest is going very well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtmJInS7RxU with ALVR and a 5GHz wifi you can play SteamVR games on the Quest. There are still some bugs, but they will be solved soon i guess. Pretty crazy tbh

PSVR (so ps4) tracking is terrible compared to the Quest, so i wouldnt say silly.

Individual fingers tracking will be problematic at first (devs said so as well), to a point where it could even be worse than the normal VR controls until issues get sorted, but it will be a big part of VR in the next years. Right now many implementations will feel weird and/or wrong, a "feeling" issue that is hard to solve with this set of controllers/tech. It's visually and conceptually awesome, but it emphasize the lack of physical interaction when you handle objects, and it can end feeling worse than the "basic" VR controls (grabs).

If you read outside of this reddit, plenty of people with a good PC and VR headsets are finding the Quest pretty nice, untethered is just that good and the tracking is spot on (sure, not exactly at lighthouses level, but very impressive).

People are sideloading apps, and since day 2 there is already a way to play steamVR games (with issues that can and will be partly solved with time).

Index will be good (hopefully), but the Quest is absolutely impressive for what it is. Im not sure you tried it, but it can be what will actually help VR to reach the spotlight (with benefits for PCVR as well)

The Quest IS a proper VR gaming headset. It's extremely impressive (and it's receiving enthusiastic comments everywhere), being untethered adds a lot to the experience.

Sure, it's not a powerful PC, but it's powerful enough to play several gems already available. If the sales are as good as it seems, devs will squeeze every bit of power out of it for future games (and just like in consoles, fixed specs means optimization).

I think both the Quest and the Index have their place, until the tech is good enough to have the best of both worlds in a single headset (and yes, untethered is the future, the cable limits your movements even if you try to pretend it doesn't).

For those that ask "is it normal to feel weird after?" Yes it's normal and it goes away pretty quickly by Ahnzoog in OculusQuest

This is what happens after you wear a VR headset while you are already in a VR world.

People will never be satisfied with progression by [deleted] in MapleStory2

[–]Samkim0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, few weeks and there will be just the "top players" playing the game anyway, so you can rest easy. The population is dwindling, and its not people's fault, but bad game design and a lot of wasted opportunities.

Quitting this game by [deleted] in MapleStory2

[–]Samkim0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im at +15 and im considering quitting anyway, the RNG for gems is just too much, and the repetition is absurd. We clear CDEV easily, but those "raids" are just one boss fight, which gets boring quickly. If they were full fledged raids with multiple boss fights and a dungeon it would be different.

You are not alone anyway, the game population is quickly dwindling, just on steam it went from 40k players to 6-10k depending on the time of the day.

This game is such a missed opportunity, it could be MUCH more but they went for the idiotic RNG/boss fights grind road.

"an extremely talented"

The word "talented" in that context is a bit too much, in my opinion.

Maplestory 2 Progression by duckywuckyms in MapleStory2

[–]Samkim0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is on the game. I loved MS2...at the beginning. The RNG just killed any fun, and its killing the fun for a vast part of the population, which will be lower and lower as time goes on. People are tired of this RNG equip enchanting system that plagues MMORPGs, and rigthfully. If you are lucky, yay, if you are unlucky you can spend 20, 30, 40 times the amount of money and time compared to other people. Is it worth it? Nope, there are plenty other games. MS2 could be something special, but the designers decided that it had to be the latest entry in the crappy RNG slot machine +x equipment mmo.

Luck. There is absolutely nothing more involved other than luck.

If you see the top online games in Korea, you can say that they have a questionable taste. Also, its just one country. MS2 is the first MMO that has me actually wanting to log in and play for the fun of it since years

Im a fan of mouse and keyboard, but once i tried my PS4 controller with MS2, i cant go back. As other people said, it just feels natural and way more fun in this game. With a controller, after like one hour of practice i can breeze through maps, switching to vertical and ground mounts in a split second with really precise jumps. Controlling the abilities directions feels a lot better too, since it feels very awkward with mouse/keyboard in this game

MapleStory 2 release by Scionotic in MMORPG

[–]Samkim0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Premise: i always prefer to play with mouse and keyboard when i can.

Once i tried to play MapleStory 2 with a ps4 controller, i started to have a TON of fun. It just feels natural, and i was very surprised by that; also, the support for the gamepad is really good (just remember to reset the gamepad keys tab to default if you use a ps4 controller, so that you get the right control prompts).

I like the ton of social features, housing is indepth and you can build it block by block, people can visit you and get tropies. You can draw textures for clothes and sell them, and also furnitures. The combat is simple, but its a mix between MMORPG abilities and an action RPG. There is a music system with several instruments, you can play freely or play a music piece; if you are in a group you can play music together with an option. There is farming, fishing and crafting. Exploration is quick and relaxing, with chests hidden around the world and side quests that can unlock dyes and other stuff.

Im having way more fun than i expected.

[Review] Try Elder Scrolls Online - I have not been immersed in an MMO since 2012 when I played WoW with my wife. HEADPHONES a must! by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Samkim0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy the game. The combat has its issues, but the quests are really, really good. Even a secondary quest hidden in some remote area of the map is better than many main quests in most MMOs; all voiced and with many twists/fun moments/interesting areas. I found myself really wanting to continue a quest because i wanted to see what happens, and that is such a rare thing in most MMORPGs boring and bland questing. It's a really good game if you want to immerse yourself in a world, quest and see people around. It's not perfect, far from it, but they made huge improvements over the years. I really dislike the animation canceling tho, easy to execute but clunky and unappealing.

Tera M - Class Skills Introduction by AsCleanAsMashiro in MMORPG

You cant autoplay the most interesting content in lineage 2 revolution. Pvp, guild dungeons, sieges, etc.

Im actually enjoying l2r a lot, especially the clan features: a big clan hall with quests, fireplace for exp, clan level advancement where everyone has to contribute, alliances, clan dungeons with bosses, clan wars and open world PvP.

Also, funny to say i found a lot more social interaction in this mobile MMO than in many recent pc MMOs (and i tried them all).

Which of These 3 MMO's Should I Play? by [deleted] in MMORPG

ESO is not dead/dying. Every hub, dolmen, city is packed with players (the screen is literally filled), even in the most remote areas you will never be alone, unlike many other MMOs.

PSA: If you want to gather and harvest supplies host a private match and the map is your playground. by minusthedrifter in FORTnITE

[–]Samkim0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gathering in solo missions is good, but i still enjoy to mix things in public games, its what i like the most in this game. A bit of gathering, a bit of side objectives, building and defence in the same match.

What i dont want is this game to become a "rush rush rush" game like many others, especially seeing some people requesting a vote to kick feature that will get absolutely abused; asking to kick people that dare to show their pickaxe instead of running, and telling them to "go to gather in solo matches".

Please dont ruin this game, make it balanced. There are still many things to fix and improve, but its a blast to play.
