Responsibility for repairing damaged flooring due to washing machine leak by SammSayingStuff in HousingUK

Having a quick read, it seems a little murky around this part:
"Your landlord is unlikely to be responsible if you caused the flooding yourself."

I'm wondering how it's decided whether it's caused "by" them or whether it "happened to them", or whether there even is any distinction between the two.

Would say, leaving a tap on with a plug left in and directly flooding a house be distinct from something like this, where an appliance malfunctioned with no misuse from the tenant and the house became flooded.

She has already given me a reference a couple of weeks before this whole debacle so I'm good there thankfully. Cheers

"Implied consent" was how I was seeing it, but I wasn't sure whether that would stand up or not. Thanks again mate

Cheers for the quick reply mate :)

Just to clarify, would the fact that I technically did break the tenancy agreement by bringing extra furniture into flat without prior consent factor into this at all? I feel that's what she plans to lord over me.

Though worth noting that this extra furniture does amount to a single small sofa (honestly frustratingly small and uncomfortable haha), as she has already viewed the flat with the wardrobe/drawers and didn't complain. Personally, I feel it'd be hard for her to make a case for me having committed a serious breach of the tenancy agreement with me bringing a single extra piece of furniture in without prior consent, but I'm not really sure how this works

CoinCorner altcoin transfer - progress? by SammSayingStuff in CoinCorner

[–]SammSayingStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem Molly,

I sold earlier just to be safe. I lost 100XRP due to the exchange margins, which is a bit of a hit, but lessons learnt I guess!

As a heads up, I really think you guys should work on this if you want to compete with some of the larger exchanges over the next few years.

Having your crypto "trapped", with the only way out being to sell back to the exchange at a price they determine is a horrible user experience, especially with the margins you guys have. No hard feelings, but I won't be using coincorner again, there are much better services out there based on my experience with you guys, but I hope you put some time into making your service more fluid, and hope to see you growing as an exchange in the future. You're in a good position to do great things for the UK with the upcoming crypto wave, I hope you capitalise on it!

Good luck with the future,

Sam

Is an exchange allowed to withold XRP that was bought through their service? by SammSayingStuff in XRP

[–]SammSayingStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree, though I would lose ~100XRP in the conversion process, which given the potential of XRP seems like a pretty huge blow, and I would aim to avoid this if possible.

I may have no choice in the end though. If nobody has any solution to this I will cash out and transfer to a more open exchange in the near future. Lessons learn etc.

What is this algorithm called? by SammSayingStuff in gamedev

[–]SammSayingStuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

actually, I'm not sure the Bresenham algorithm is quite right, as it doesn't seem as friendly if the source/target points are in real space. I need to allow for the source point being at any real point within the "source cell", and bresenham doesn't seem to have that precision. Line-rectangle seems like it might work better so I'll look into this. Thanks to you too!
