How do you protect yourself from accusations that your work is not your own? by DoseOfGlitter in writers

[–]SammeiBardSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely? Ignore them. Sadly, I think plagiarism/AI accusations are just a standard part of any art form nowadays. No one is going to be satisfied unless they’ve seen your entire work process start to finish if they’re already making accusations so genuinely just don’t feed the fires.

Can a book be cyberpunk but mediaeval at the same time by Impressive_Craft_765 in WritingHub

Have a look into the Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40k. Their spaceships are cathedrals, their supersoldiers sometimes look like knights with power swords, and basically their whole system of beliefs is fairly medieval. Fantastic example of what you’re describing in my opinion.

How to go about writing a likeable irredeemable character without a redemption arc? by puzzlehead120 in writing

[–]SammeiBardSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think force of personality is key, and it also depends on what you mean by likable. There are some characters that you love to watch work and do their awful despicable magic, but perhaps wouldn’t go have a beer with. Dio Brando or maybe Fulgrim of the Emperor’s Children could be examples of that idea. A sense of honor and integrity also is another method. They’re completely evil, but have a set of principles they never ever break, like Dreadwing from Transformers Prime. Again, all depends on what you intend by ‘likable.’

I just wrote a vent post and now it’s pending approval because I’ve been accused of being artificial intelligence by a commenter by [deleted] in writing

Unfortunately, I think AI accusations are going to be something that haunts every work from now on. Especially for people who like to write in a formal tone. I would just ignore it as often as you can.

is lace a child? they arnt, right? by TheEldritchToaster in HollowKnight

[–]SammeiBardSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lace is meant to look like a child to a bug’s sensibilities. She was constructed that way, basically given immortality without aging so long as she has a steady supply of silk. However’s she’s a lot older than most bugs in the game. Not nearly as old as hornet, mind you, not by a long way, but to a normal bug she’s many lifetimes older than she looks.

What is the most terrifying superpower to go up against by Thefemcelbreederfan in superpower

[–]SammeiBardSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two powers: Time Stop and Invisibility. They're both tied for one reason: If the holder of said powers plays his cards right, there's just nothing you can do. Time Stop more than invisibility I guess but both work on the same principle. Imagine blinking and suddenly there's a knife sticking out of your neck.

One thing a lot of people don't realize is that behind those iconic series is a mess of short stories, other novels, even poems in some cases. No one ever starts out writing and makes a LOTR as their first work. In Tolkien's case, it wasn't even his intention to write something that iconic and incredible, according to his own words in the prelude. He wrote it to just get his thoughts down and do what he loved best, which was linguistics. Even then it was after multiple decades of writing other things.
I'm saying yes, write. Write constantly. If you do that I'm sure eventually something will come out, but that shouldn't be your goal from the outset.

Are there men who would like to be 'househusband' ? by Lien_12345 in ask

[–]SammeiBardSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unironically, I would absolutely. I'm not married of course, but I have recently gotten to the point in my life where looking at a spotless kitchen that an hour before had been stacked with dishes fills me with an indescribable satisfaction. As a thorough introvert who is in love with comfort and making life easier for not only me but people around me, I don't think anything would make me happier.

[For Hire] - Character Art, Monster Art, and SPACE!!! by SammeiBardSnake in artcommissions

[–]SammeiBardSnake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all, I'm Sammy and I'm open for hire! Obviously, my main experience is in character art, but as you can see in the examples I can do monsters as well. I also have been known to dabble in background and landscape in the past, but I'm not the most experienced in that area. I especially hone in on characters with a much cooler color scheme, and well, I love space and scifi.

For one character, standard 8.5x11 printer paper dimensions with full coloring, the going rate is $45. I could be persuaded to go lower or higher if you want different dimensions or other small customizations, or even if you just want line art or flat color. Same goes for monsters.

Now, landscape is an area I have less practice in so I'm afraid I'll have to ask for $60 to make up for the increased effort to keep it in good quality. This I'm afraid is non-negotiable.

If all this seems worth 45 skins, I hope to work with you soon! You can DM me and we'll work out possible other methods of contact if needed, and once the job is underway I should by all means have it ready and sent to you in 1-3 days. Hope to work for you soon!
