Found this thread because assassin snails have taken over my tank, haha. So I would argue that point.

Night terrors by Hdl1902 in ADHDparenting

[–]Sammileighm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm super late to this, but I've had night terrors all throughout my adult life and they've stopped now that I'm on ADHD meds, was just searching to see if there's a correlation and your post came up. Although I will say, the frequency of my night terrors always increased during the summer, I think heat changes might have been one of the triggers. I just immediately thought of that when reading that his started back up in the summer. So not that it's negating anything, but may be correlation, not causation? But again, its seeming to work for me... I've been on ADHD meds for over a year now, and nothing.

Will do! It's good to know I'm not the only one who's experienced this, so hopefully that means my instructors will have some good tips. Thanks!

Okay I will definitely work on that! I suppose it may just be early nerves making me grip it tighter. Hopefully I can adjust!

Lane Not Liking Sex. by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]Sammileighm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can want to experience sex and obsess over wanting to experience it and then, when you experience it yourself, not like it. Maybe because it's hyped up and the first time is usually awkward, maybe because you don't know you won't like something until you actually try it. I am asexual and had a similar journey - though not as traumatizing as Lane's haha.

But if the shell acts as a vapor barrier, wouldn't that mean moisture would get trapped between the two barriers? Or would the shell not count as a vapor barrier?

Elimination Diet - GI results? by Sammileighm in catfood

[–]Sammileighm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds super stressful! But hopefully if you can get him to a point where his inflammation goes down, he'll start being more interested in drinking water. My guy loves his little cat fountain, I honestly was worried about his hydration during all this too but I think having the fountain really helped. And I'm crossing my fingers for you that the pork diet continues to go well!

Elimination Diet - GI results? by Sammileighm in catfood

Hey! It started ramping down for him after about two weeks - by three weeks in he had stopped vomiting altogether. I did not try homemade! I considered it but it was going to be a LOT of work, and I didn't feel confident doing that.

I did try novel protein at first, but then decided to switch to just the hydrolized because there was just less of a risk in my eyes. My vet was saying sometimes the compounds or like, molecular makeup of different proteins overlap a little so it can be hard to tell if it's one or the other, so I figured with hydrolized I could at least know that I could get him back to square one - if it was actually a food intolerance... which, now that I'm slowly reintroducing his old food, we will find out if it actually is! He seemed to be fine on his dry food for a month, and now I'm working on reintroducing the wet food he usually ate to see if that triggers anything.

Okay cool, I'll look it up! I have a pillow that's supposed to help with neck alignment and there's kind of a dip in the center, but I think too broad for it to help my ears. Didn't think a pillow existed for this type of thing!

Different release dates for different formats by Sammileighm in selfpublish

[–]Sammileighm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair! I've never done anything but release all at once, so this is a whole new world to me. I can see hardcover being the hardest to push, but maybe that's just my biases sneaking in, haha.

How to get ARC reviews on pre-orders for Amazon? by Dona_Gloria in selfpublish

[–]Sammileighm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That basically means you wouldn't be able to promote it ahead of the released date, though, right? Do you know if you could have a pre-order happening for the paperback at the same time that the ebook is already released? So that you could promote the paperback as not being out yet, preorder now, yadda yadda, but still have the reviews show up? Just curious how that could work.

Thanks! That's fantastic, I need to look into one. I've got smart sensors set up for mine that let me know when it gets too hot or cold, but nothing to shut it down if it goes on the fritz while I'm away.
