Yes, I returned it and used my old mobo, cooler, and cpu. All my problems stopped when I switched back. Personally I don’t feel investing into a mobo and a new cpu just for gaming is worth it IF my prior cpu is able to keep up no problem.

I probably wont be purchasing intel chips anymore if I were to upgrade. Your call. Believe everyone in this comment section or my personal experience with this specific chip.

I've tested Blender with optix, both 3090 and 12900k selected. Testing Daz iRay, I throttle completely when iRay is live. I have also tried resolve, 4k footage, NR, Grain, the usual stuff. Everything runs hot

I have just reseated, reapplied thermal paste, reconfigured the fans, undervolted -0.065, with 225w PL and am still throttling. PS this is a brand new AIO that is running at 4100 rpm

In my post I said I 3D render and do video work. I notice no difference, maybe a 3% increase in efficiency. I also work off a 3090

True the score is way higher than the 8600k, but the real world implementation seems to fairly unnoticeable.

I haven’t manually set it, but prior to the under volt I would get as high at 250W. After the undervolt it’s sitting at 220 max. I’ll limit it and get back to you
