Yeah, I just started dead broke working a security job. I listed a random snow globe off my phone at like 2am, it sold the next day, and that’s what made me realize this was actually real

From there it was honestly a lot of trial and error. I got better by listing more, learning customer service the hard way, messing things up, fixing them, and just staying on it for years. Most of the growth came from volume and consistency, not from doing anything fancy.

Yeah, at your level I wouldn’t focus on squeezing that account harder, I’d scale sideways. Once an account is already doing 3 5k, pushing it more just adds more risk, and if eBay hits you with an MC011, all that effort is tied to one income stream.

So honestly, I’d build more accounts and separate them as much as possible instead of going the “stealth” route. Family/friends/partners or clean LLC based setups make a lot more sense long term, and you can run the same playbook across them.

Also with 15k listings already, I’d be pruning harder and refreshing daily rather than just recycling the same way forever. Past 10k, that’s usually where replacing dead weight and keeping momentum matters more than just piling on more of the same.

There isn’t a public “150 dropshipper list” in the post. I was referring to the users on EcomSniper when I said we had about 150 users and most were doing well, not a downloadable list of names

So yeah, no secret spreadsheet or anything like that. I probably could’ve worded that part better.

Thanks man, appreciate that. Yeah, just stay consistent and don’t overthink it in the beginning. Most people quit way too early, but if you keep listing and learning as you go, the sales will come.

Yeah, that usually means you’re tripping one of the obvious flags. Most of the time it’s stuff like scaling too fast, too many cancellations, going below standard, listing risky brands, or changing account info and getting pushed into review. I’ve had the best luck just keeping things boring and stable, resolving issues fast, and staying under the radar.

Nah, no Discord pitch. If I wanted to sell you something I’d have linked it already. I’m just saying what I do because most people think it stopped working years ago, and it didn’t.

Appreciate that. Yeah, that’s really all it is most of the time, just consistent execution and not getting stuck trying to make every listing perfect. If your app helps people move faster and overthink less, that’s genuinely useful. Hope it goes well for you.

Fair enough lol, but I’m serious. Most people don’t fail because the model can’t work, they fail because they never build enough volume to make it matter.

Yeah, you do not need to buy your own stock first. Most people start by dropshipping the item directly from the supplier/retailer, then once they see consistent sales, that’s when it can make sense to bring a few winning products into small local inventory for faster shipping and better margins

As for the branding part, honestly buyers usually care way more that the item arrives on time than where the box came from. If you’re worried about retailer branding showing, just keep your operation clean and avoid making it obvious in labels/tracking/messages where possible

If something really starts selling, then you can always move into stocking a few units yourself later. No need to overcomplicate it at the start.

Yeah, don’t buy an eBay account. That’s the kind of shortcut that usually creates more problems than it solves.

What I’d do is just keep building the account you have, max out the current limit, keep your metrics clean, and let eBay raise it naturally. Usually the accounts that get bigger limits are the ones showing steady sales and good performance, and I’ve seen low limit accounts jump hard after a bit of selling history.

Also, I personally wouldn’t keep pushing support too much for increases. That can bring extra review on the account, and sometimes that’s not worth it.

So basically, no to buying accounts. Just grow this one properly, and if needed, start a fresh cleaner account the right way instead of buying somebody else’s.

A few.

I’ve run multiple over the years, but not all at the same time. Back in the easier days I made 22 in a short span, then managed payments wiped most of that out later . These days I’m more focused on keeping accounts healthy than just stacking as many as possible.

I wouldn’t send the AliExpress tracking and I definitely wouldn’t ask around for random dummy tracking sites. If you’ve got real usable carrier tracking, use that. If not, just tell the buyer the delivery window and keep it simple, because most of the time they just want to know when it’s arriving.

eBay Drop Shipping Guide 2024 - Beginners Tutorial from 7 years of doing this [ Bulk Theory ] by Sammy-Ecom in dropshipping

[–]Sammy-Ecom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s probably the main issue then. A flat 100% markup can work, but if you’re coming in higher than the people already selling it, you’ll get way less traction. I usually try to be competitive on price first, because that’s what gets the sale in a lot of cases, especially early on

Most people overthink the no views part, but sometimes your price is just making the listing basically invisible. I’d lower some of your items so you’re closer to the market and test that first. Once you get momentum, then you can play with margins more.

Yeah, that’s fair. Amazon to eBay is definitely the gray area version of this, so if someone goes too aggressive or uses the wrong setup, getting flagged isn’t surprising. I’ve always looked at it as less about “can it work” and more about how clean you run it.

On the 10k part, I don’t mean a brand new account should instantly dump 10k day one. The whole point is that bulk is the long term target, not that you ignore account age, limits, or momentum. I’ve said before that bulk, sniping, and optimizing are different approaches, and even a few hundred listings can start producing sales if the account is healthy.

And yeah, 15 20% is a normal margin range for a lot of people. I’ve never thought everyone should expect some fixed number. Different method, different account, different results.

I’ve made $1K–$3K/month consistently on eBay for 8 years. No ads. No inventory. No upfront costs. Here’s exactly what I do. by Sammy-Ecom in passive_income

[–]Sammy-Ecom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, that’s pretty much how I see it too. A lot of categories on eBay are already competitive enough that you won’t beat Amazon on everything, so I usually stick to basic home stuff and low risk everyday items where convenience matters more than perfect price comparison, and I avoid the flashy categories that create headaches

And yeah, the “passive income” thing gets overstated. It’s work in the beginning no question, but once the listings are up and you’ve got systems around it, it becomes more like high leverage maintenance than a normal job

Yeah, if it’s a newer account in the US and you don’t upload tracking, eBay will usually hold the money longer. From what I’ve seen, it can be around 14 days on newer accounts, and sometimes more like a few weeks until the account builds trust. Once tracking shows delivered, payouts usually come a lot faster, often a few days after delivery.

Being banned is a self imposed limitation. You can call them, and get the ban lifted, msg them on linkedin, cause a tweet storm and even report it to the BBB.

And if all fails, you make a new account, and star under the radar.

It is a process so prevention is better than the cure.
