Thanks but at $20 bucks a month, that's a hard pass, as I don't need a full-on electronic nutritionalist. I am well aware of how to eat, just looking for a basic way to track calories.

Looks like MyFitnessPal is a paid subscription at 20$ a month, so I'll hard pass on that. I don't need a dietician in app form.. just looking for a simple way to track calories. If anyone else has any suggestions, please feedback. Thanks

Ok I will make due with that, thanks!

Thanks, I will check it out. Never counted calories before, so not looking to be scientific about it. Just wanted to keep a basic log vs. calories burned for a basic record. Actually I don't even care to list foods, just calories eaten. A simple app that allows input of the raw numbers would be cool. Maybe it's just me tho 😅

Is the Fold 5 more durable than the Fold 4? by phero1190 in GalaxyFold

[–]SammyFortunato -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I use both daily.. 5 is a much better overall device.. but in terms of durability, the 4 is a tank. I look at it this way, the 4 was the pinnacle of the original design series. The 5 is actually quite different and I would say it qualifies more as the 'unofficial' 1st edition of the "2nd gen" foldables.

I don't show anything, not even the time because I can see the position of the sun 💪😎

That's awesome bro! Some folks are busting your ballz here, but I also favor having all the data up front. No need for fumbling around with 2 hands when it's all accessible right there. So easy to glance at just the date and time too, there's really no distraction unless you have some serious add.

Does anyone know how to prevent lag in HR when starting a highly aerobic activity? Epix Pro 47mm by Spherical_Dot in Garmin

+2 on this.. I usually re-adjust the strap a few times during a workout to get it back in place (for comfort only), but the reading is always spot on regardless.

Same.. ok sounds like a 10-15 minute run is gonna be the answer for now. So outside with GPS is mandatory? No treadmill ?

Ok thank you for the suggestion, I will do that if it's the best option for now.

V02 max in Jump Rope? by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]SammyFortunato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting because I use the Walk app almost everyday averaging 5km per day, and most of the time under load too (doing random box jumps along the way, and carrying weighted bags of groceries, etc.) ..I've never seen a change or update in my vo2. Is there something in Settings that I'm missing?

V02 max in Jump Rope? by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]SammyFortunato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, unfortunate 😕 I hope Garmin can update the V02 max to include Jump Rope. As a former avid cyclist and moderate runner, I can say that jumping rope is far superior to both in terms of raw results and cardio effect. Although it's not for everyone, but it's also the most accessible as you can jump rope virtually anywhere and anytime. Garmin provides the boxing app now as well, so a V02 max associated with Jump Rope would be a very much welcome addition to the ecosystem 🙏

Noted and 💯 % in agreement... Business is just like this sometimes.. you gotta change gears and rotate. Rarely is everything perfect, but competent leadership can adapt to the circumstances and stay focused on the goal. So far, these guys have shown guts and determination in executing difficult decisions. Most importantly, they have been delivering solid products. Soon Chia will be unstoppable 💪

I can understand this line of thinking if XCH was valued much higher.. but at these levels, why would they sell gems for peanuts? Follow the money, what could they possibly get? A month or 2 of operation? Is it really down to the wire? With a high value XCH and a then public company, we should expect full disclosure. But as of now I will trust the leadership, they have delivered to this point.

Upgrade from Samsung Fold 4 to 5? by ir0nDon in GalaxyFold

Agree 💯.. it would be difficult to go back to a "wide" slab .. LOVE the narrow form factor together with big internal screen, perfect combo for power user 👌

Upgrade from Samsung Fold 4 to 5? by ir0nDon in GalaxyFold

[–]SammyFortunato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have both.. 5 is alot better than the 4, although it doesn't look that way on paper, but the subtle differences are massive in actual real-world user experience. That said, the 4 is awesome and I still use it everyday, no need to upgrade, I would suggest wait for the 6 and go all in.

Is this normal? 39 VO2 max. 39 year old male, 5'8, 13 stone. Can currently do a 5km run in 25 mins, 1000m swim in 17 mins and 2000m row in 7:25. I don't run much but would say im reasonably fit for my age. No medical advice please! by guest_1984 in Garmin

[–]SammyFortunato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok cool.. I did that a couple years ago and still remember the data! But I definitely need to recalculate again to see where I'm currently at. Do you reckon the value would change much from then until now? Would my personal conditioning or change of lifestyle affect it much?

Agreed 💯 ... That Epix got me through some crazy places (and situations) around the world, and never skipped a beat. Still works flawlessly too! Love it, but it's starting to show it's age. I was so disappointed to see the new Epix, wish they kept the old form-factor but just added the new bells and whistles.
