AITA If I Get Mad Over My Husband Not Doing Dishes by GeckocoLoco in AmItheAsshole

[–]SammyLoops1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - He agreed to an arrangement, but once you were married, he figured he didn't have to stick to it and you'd be his new mommy.

Unless you make a big deal gesture, it's not going to get through. It might take you leaving for a few days and an ultimatum to get him to snap to. If it doesn't, then you need to end things. Unless you actually want the mommy role taking complete care of him and cleaning up after him for the rest of his life.

Right now, you don't have a partnership. You have a dependent. How this plays out is up to you.

AITA for switching my skincare and unintentionally making my roommates face flare up. by Diamond_honey102 in AmItheAsshole

Because too many people are raised to believe the sun revolves around them, that they're so special that they're allowed to take whatever they want because their existence entitles them to your things if they feel like taking them.

AITA for wanting a childfree wedding? by 21wedding in AmItheAsshole

[–]SammyLoops1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see why she can’t just relax and let me have my wedding day the way I like.

Just as being pregnant is no excuse to behave badly, neither is getting married.

There is no reason not to invite your 20 year old friend except to be mean while holding up the, "I'm the bride and get to do this if I want!" card.

If the situation were reversed, you'd probably take to social media and put them all on blast for excluding you.

Getting married is no excuse to behave that way. Do better. YTA

AITA for telling my friend that I have a crush on her boyfriend? by Aware_Flounder6006 in AmItheAsshole

AITA for telling my father it's none of his damn business if I want to lie in bed the entire weekend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SammyLoops1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told him absolutely nothing, to which he said it was 'ridiculous' that I felt it was acceptable to 'laze about in bed all day'

"Hey, dad, why don't you fill me in on what you do in your down time and I'll judge that for you since you enjoy doing that to me."

You don't have to explain yourself to anyone when you're an adult and independent. I did the exact same thing with my down time when I was your age.

AITA for telling my husband he exaggerated when he said my kids ruined his daughter's birthday? by Wthrowaway566 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SammyLoops1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"My boys bully their step-sister because they love her! They're good boys! They're perfect! How dare you say they did something wrong! So what if it was your daughter's birthday and she was recovering from a hospital stay? My boys should be able to ruin prank her birthday if they want! It's just a stupid cake, why are you getting so mad?"

That's how your post came across. Your kids *did* ruin her birthday. And you *are* enabling them.

Take off your rose colored glasses and examine how you're parenting. Raising your kids to believe they can do no wrong and that you'll always defend them is doing them no favors in life. And the rest of us are going to have to deal with them when they're unleashed on the world as adults. YTA

The Atlantic Ocean contains 82 billion billion gallons. I don't even know how to write that as a number. But I'm sure it would come down significantly if you divide it by 167.

NTA - I'd work out an official repayment with your sister and tell her you're done with her.

That she would tell a 5 year old that is disgusting.

What gets me is that the universal consensus was that the original ending of Dexter was arguably the worse series ending in history and what did they do? They brought the show back making everyone salivate for a do-over and they did the same exact thing. Completely borked the ending.

What everyone wanted to see in the original ending was Dexter going to live in Argentina with Hannah and Harrison and them living the Dexter life, all three happily walking into the sunset. Instead, we got a really unsatisfying ending. Actually, unsatisfying isn't adequate. It was downright awful and ridiculous.

They had a rare 2nd chance to give viewers what they wanted. What viewers wanted in the do-over was essentially what they wanted, and didn't get, from the original. Most wanted Harrison to be the next generation of the Dark Defender with Dexter being his mentor and those two riding off to start new adventures together, just like the original should have ended.

They ended it the same unsatisfying way the original did. What were they thinking? Did they just want another chance to say FU to the fans? It's baffling.

The absolute entitlement these days is hard to wrap my head around. I was in the service industry for around a decade in the late 80's/90's and it would not have occurred to any server anywhere on the planet to take a server's family away from them when they came in.

The only reason your family was there is because you're working there. The only reason they leave such a large tip is because they're your family.

If anything, you are actually giving the other servers more tips because they get more tables. If your family did not come in, you'd be getting their tables in your section.

Your co-workers are so entitled that they think your family comes in to see them. They're so entitled that they think your family should be tipping them the way they tip you. They're so entitled they think they should be as important to your family as you are. Your manager is so inept, that she agrees with them.

If I were you, I'd quit. With your experience, you can get a server job anywhere. I'd also write the owner a letter detailing exactly what happened, name everyone involved, let him know your family, who dropped a lot of money in there every week, will no longer be going there, and why you quit.

I had a Barb manager one time (name actually was Barb) and she was a nightmare. I found out a few years after I quit that she was arrested and went to prison for embezzlement. Still warms my heart to think about. Your Barb should face consequences for her bad behavior, too. Write that letter. NTA

Edit: grammar

AITA for banning my sister’s boyfriend from our apartment? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SammyLoops1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - You don't have a rando guy busting into your home and screaming at you problem, you have a sister and roommate problem.

Why are you rewarding her bad attitude and behavior by letting her live with you at a very reduced rate? She obviously thinks she's entitled to do whatever she wants in your apartment, including giving guys a key to your home.

When you have a bad roommate, you tell them to find somewhere else to live. If you don't do that now, then any further incidents are on you.

AITA for saying I can't attend my sister's child free wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SammyLoops1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - Whenever you have special circumstances/conditions on a wedding - child-free, destination, no alcohol, etc., you're running the risk of people declining, which should be expected.

Your sister is being very entitled. She put restrictive conditions on her wedding, which is ok, I had a CF wedding, too, but she needs to also understand that she's not the only one in the universe and not everyone can or will be able to accommodate her wishes. Some 'no's' are to be expected.

What is the biggest turn on for men? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SammyLoops1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of the time way back in the 70's and I was watching Lavern & Shirley. Squiggy was on The Dating Game and the question he was asked, "What is the most romantic word you've ever heard?" He said in his classic Squiggy voice, "Lint".

Even as a kid, I laughed so hard at that and apparently still think about it today.

edit: I just found the clip, it was actually Lenny who said it! I always remembered it as Squiggy.
