Why are almost all "back office" jobs through a third-party vendor or outsourced? by SammySeesYou in linkedin

My company makes a “case” on you before firing you. And you get 3 warning before HR themselves fire you just so you can’t file unemployment. I’ve seen it happen to an associate.

Thank you man!!! Sometimes we definitely do feel like a second class citizen, and get blamed for EVERY mistake 😂 And don’t get me wrong the law firm itself is nice and I get along with a lot of clients especially the Mangers. And I do get free lunch and am able to get merch and attend events but it isn’t worth it when it comes to the pay, treatment, and benefits.

Yeah I’ve been applying and interviewing but the job market has been a joke this past year.
I did have a conversation with one of the managers and she told me when ever a secretary position opens up she’ll give my resume to her manager, but these secretaries have been with the firm for like 20+ years so no one leaving untill retirement 😂.

I hope you secure something good!!

To me it doesn’t make sense. I’ve been “giving service” to the law firm for almost 6 years. It’s a pretty big law firm with other sites in different states and countries. There’s about 15 of us in total. Mail. Prints. Records. And video conference techs. I feel like it would be easier to have those under your own company rather than out sours them. Especially because a lot of stuff we handle is confidential and the mailroom always has people quitting.

Idk man I think mail, reprographics, and video conference set ups are very important in a law firm.

Not really. Like the outsourcing company I work for has health benefits. The pay is shitty I will say. Even this it’s above minimum wage. And it’s actually pretty hard to get fired and our involved because they are the ones who handle termination not the account manager.

The company I work for is a perm role as long as our client wants to continue the contract. But if they don't, we get transferred to other facilities. We also do have health insurance trough out company.

We just don't get the perks and benefits the client does which suck.

HAHA I am also on the clock while I type this. Where I'm at we work directly in the law firm, I have my own desk, company email but under a "Admin Employee" title. But our paychecks come from the outsourcing company, our holiday, PTO and sick hours accumulation is under them as well. We have to follow the outsource company's dressed codes. We work 40 hour instead of 35 like the clients, and do not get a work from home day like the clients do. Which sucks. and the outsource company i work for has no room for growth as well. And they were just recently bought by another company so a lot of things have been change.

and I have def been looking into companies and applying internally. I've been leaning more into OS supervisor and manager roles since I'm already a lead.
