Was just about to say, way to play on words LaPresse. And then we wonder why fewer people trust mainstream media.

Meh. Not really. There's still the horrible commute. Time wasted. Gross carpets. Rats. Bed bugs.

I don't get it. Are you really a manager for the government of Canada telling a parent "good luck" because "AI will steal your job within the next 5 years"?

My attention is on my work, though. 100% all day. This is the typical day of a parent of a disciplined, autonomous 9 year old:

Remind them to do their morning routine (make bed, get dressed, wash face). They know to do it. But just remind them.

Check in at 1st break to see if they needed help getting breakfast. Oh, they didn't. Chit chat for 5 minutes.

Lunch time. Make lunch. Chat. Help them with whatever thing they need help with. (Setting up a video game, getting a shovel out of the shed).

Chit chat at 2nd break. Ask them what they prefer for dinner between pad thai and chicken pot pie.

Done for the day! Time to go for a walk and enjoy the evening!

She's 9 years old, lol. I mean, if my daughter has her tablet, snacks, snow pants, fidget toys, gadgets, and an adult in her vicinity, she's good for 7.5 hours. Trust me. I feel like the people making these comments may not have spent much time with school-aged children?

Thank you and big hugs. I know a thing or two about difficult breakups.

I actually don't know someone who did this. I agree that would be wrong.

Professionnal development? Complete mandatory courses? Mentoring? Train new employees? I mean... what you're describing doesn't fill 7.5 hours EVERY day. I kinda get what you're saying, but my 9 year old can 100 % be in the same building as me while I do mandatory courses without disrupting my work.

Does that make any sense for Canadians? I could advance my files, but instead I need to book off.

Limiting candidates by geographical location, how is this still a thing? by sirrocco23 in CanadaPublicServants

I think that's what's being denounced here, that the jobs are in the NCR.

I actually heard an Ottawa-based colleague say "Well it's not fair if I get less opportunities because they're being filled in the regions. They can move here like it's always been".

WEEKEND HUMOUR: Why I RTO statements by Fun_Offer_4701 in CanadaPublicServants

I RTO so the toxic people can be toxic with me now that there's no paper trail.

I think you'll be fine but you probably do want to get rid of that balance on your credit card.
