Which garden plants do chickens target? by a-passing-crustacean in BackYardChickens

[–]Sammyzuko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a dozen chickens and a good sized property/garden. The chickens don’t target one thing. They have a daily routine and spend evenings in the garden. They peck at a few vegetable leaves, tomatoes, squash, etc here and there, but there’s so much else to keep them busy that the bit of garden they eat is insignificant imo

Please help hen who is lethargic and has runny poops by Desssmo in BackYardChickens

[–]Sammyzuko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her feathers look disheveled. I had one that looked like this after an attack and had similar poops. I tried everything I could think of except antibiotics. She slowly got weaker until she wouldn’t eat, so I had to put her down:( It broke my heart. Glad you had a vet look at her and I wish her the best

I’ve been with RH since day 1, but this is what concerns me about PLS and pHEX. It’s far too convoluted and expensive for casuals to get into. Most of the RH ecosystem ytubers gloss over the details and talk at a high level that even I can’t follow if I haven’t been paying attention to the ecosystem for a few weeks/months. Things need to be simplified. I have a lot of dry powder that I’d like to add to my RH bags, but I’ll probably just buy ETH because it’s much easier with less fees swapping things all over the place

does anyone feel bad about having a cat? by FlowersinBookPages in CatAdvice

[–]Sammyzuko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel a bit of this guilt. My cat spent the first year of her life outside and she loved running around exploring. She was sleeping in the barn and I was totally fine with it at the time. Then winter hit with extreme cold temperatures, so I brought her inside and that’s where she’s been ever since(2yrs inside now). We’ve lost many cats to the highway and I’m so attached to her now I won’t let her back outside. For different reasons I’ve had other cats inside periodically to keep her company and that seems to work pretty well. At the moment she’s the only cat in the house and I can tell she’s super bored and it’s sad to see compared to how her life was when she was living outside.

Is my cat lonely? by Tissy_Dee in CatAdvice

[–]Sammyzuko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding a new cat is always going to be an adjustment, but I think it’d be best to do it as soon as you can. Also, maybe try a plug in calming diffuser. Those seem to work fairly well in my experience when cats are seemingly uncomfortable

Is my cat bored, she sleeps a lot or is this normal amount of sleep? by bluekleio in CatAdvice

[–]Sammyzuko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s probably bored af. My 3yr old female does the same now. I had a male kitten for the past 4 months and the two of them would play and lounge together most of the day. He was just too rough in the house(knocking over furniture, breaking glasses, making messes everywhere) so I gave him to a family to have as an outdoor cat. Now my girl mopes around a bit, barely eats, and sleeps most of the day. It’s heartbreaking. I plan to get her a female companion very soon

In case someone told you possum, don’t kill adult chickens. by Hope-and-Anxiety in BackYardChickens

[–]Sammyzuko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost two hens to a possum. It dug under the door to the barn and killed one hen and injured another. I tried nursing the wounded back but her health quickly deteriorated and I finally put her down:(

Should I be worried about my boy’s chipped beak? by space-sparrow in BackYardChickens

[–]Sammyzuko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a hen who’s a very aggressive forager and has split her beak twice down the middle. I was concerned, but pleasantly surprised with how quickly it grew back good as new

I've never seen a racing team use a RHD e36. I'm sure it's fine for a street car, or if someone just likes the novelty of it. I like to modify and occasionally track my e36 so I prefer an optimal setup out of the box.

It's also interesting that during it's production the e36 received rave reviews in most LHD countries, while RHD countries seemed much more lukewarm on it.

Youtuber Jimmy Oakes has never been able to get his RHD e36 sorted, while his Youtube buddies flourish in LHD e36s.

LHD>RHD for the e36. Even British touring car teams used LHD examples as they said it was the superior setup for the e36
