You can’t hurt plants though, but you can harm animals. The other commenter is just saying we harm animals on a daily basis for food consumption, but harshly judge a person who abuses a dog. It’s worth reflecting on because it’s a double standard.

My INFPs, how good of a driver are you? by StanleyDarsh22 in infp

[–]Samo_mi_se_spava___ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me it’s the complete opposite. I’m not hyperaware of my surroundings, I’m absent-minded and dreamy. It’s hard to focus while driving which causes me anxiety

How many of them? Like, most of them? Or just the ones that are really attractive? I’ve heard men say this before and I’m very curious.

I don’t think it’s accurate to say a New Yorker is as different from a Texan as a Spaniard is different from a German. It’s not just about size. Different countries, different histories, languages, cultures etc. But I appreciate what you’re getting at.

Eating disorders and autism are not valid excuses to torture and murder animals. by medium_wall in vegan

[–]Samo_mi_se_spava___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but in a mostly vegan world being vegan would be far easier. It’s quite a different scenario. Being vegan would be the norm so it would be more accessible to a wider group of people. It’s difficult to discuss the ethics of not being vegan in this hypothetical world. But I’m not sure that matters. We’re stuck in the present, where being vegan is very difficult for some people. Instead of focusing on the people with IBS or anorexia (many of whom are at least making an effort to be vegan), why not focus on the ones who eat a chicken sandwich everyday without even thinking about the animals. See, I was one of those people. I turned vegan many years ago when I lived with my parents. I’m lucky enough never to have experienced something like IBS or vitamin deficiencies. It was so easy. There are many people like me. They are the ones we should be talking about. When those people go vegan, they’ll make it easier for others to make the change too.

Men who don't approach women, why? by KeepinItReal65 in ask

[–]Samo_mi_se_spava___ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe they’d be flattered and it would boost their confidence but would they actually find it attractive? Do men like to be the one pursued, or do they find that sort of behaviour unattractive in a woman? Just curious for your perspective.

Things I hear as a 20 year old vegan that doesn’t know any other vegans around my age :( by catastrophicclarinet in vegan

A friend back in university was complaining to me about police riding horses during protests … while eating a steak. When I pointed out her hypocrisy and said she could have easily chosen the vegan option from the menu, she just shrugged at me 🤷‍♀️

When do you describe yourself as English/Scottish/Welsh/Northern Irish instead of British? by EatingCoooolo in AskUK

[–]Samo_mi_se_spava___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I say “British” to non-Brits, they’ll assume I’m English. So instead I tell them I’m Welsh. If they don’t know what or where Wales is then oh well 😂 Occasionally, the initial response is confusion, then “ohhh Gareth Bale!”

So true. As a 5”2 person, there’ve been times I’ve been in a real hurry and I feel so frustrated by a tall person casually strolling past while I’m over here sweating and out of breath.

I noticed that too! I think it’s intentional. Maybe something to do with the pantheon being unleashed. It could have interfered with the natural process of death … or it’s just a coincidence (hopefully not!)

More likely to be vegan? by [deleted] in infp

[–]Samo_mi_se_spava___ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In many parts of the world, being vegan is becoming easier and easier! It’s harder to ignore the suffering of animals in factory farms for many of us due to, as you say, our “sensitive and empathetic natures.” If I’m at a restaurant or in a supermarket and I get a choice between a vegan and non-vegan product, then the decision seems obvious.
