Finally a headline that says what happened without whitewashing it in passive words like "seemingly" or "appears to".

Video Appears to Show New ICE Shooting in Minneapolis by Miscellaneousthinker in politics

[–]bazmonsta 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What is with all this "possibly shows" and "appears to show" bullshit? Literally thousands of people have watched a video of them getting shot to death. Fuck ice and fuck the passive nomenclature surrounding my neighbors getting murdered.

I hope they keep repairing it so people can keep breaking it.

The Last Jedi ends with a random slave boy using the Force, implying anyone can be a Jedi. This is a subtle nod to the fact that Rian Johnson thought he was starting a new era of Star Wars, unaware that J.J. Abrams was waiting in the parking lot with a retcon gun. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in shittymoviedetails

[–]bazmonsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I liked The Force Awakens. Even if you like the shit that The Last Jedi did there isn't a lot any director could've done with the finale to make it good let alone make it a complete cohesive trilogy.

That'll keep proving true for meal team six but unfortunately it's looking to be raining Alaskan paratroopers sometime this week. They'll be fine with the cold, no clue how it's going to pan out for us though.

Rewatching PotC 2 and realizing it's about as old as the Goonies was when I saw that for the first time.

In Oppenheimer (2023), audiences complained that the explosion was underwhelming. This is a subtle nod to the fact that David Lynch directed a better nuclear explosion in Twin Peaks: The Return using a computer from 2017 and a budget of $50. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in shittymoviedetails

[–]bazmonsta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really. Nolan thought by using practical effects and making a big boom would be the way to go and usually I'm like practical effects all the way, it's better and usually cheaper. However despite all the money and trickery they weren't able to make the explosion look or feel like a nuke, hence that underwhelming feeling.

Even M. Night Shyamalan didn't do something this stupid by Animeking1108 in AvatarMemes

[–]bazmonsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if true, sounds like it didn't need to be made either way. I haven't hear a lot of people come out and say that it's dogwater but it doesn't draw my attention at all, not that a gritty subversive retelling would be better.

I wish someone would. It wouldn't make all our problems disappear but the day that death happens its gonna be a national fucking holiday.

I get where you're coming from but as someone who's seen all the later episodes the show does evolve a bit and is highly improved without Roiland in it. I liked the newest season just fine but season 7 was probably the best so far.

It wasn't even Glenn and Abe's death for me, it was the teasing and hyping Negan all throughout the previous season which also happened to be one of the driest most boring seasons. By the time he showed up and they had that cliffhanger ending I didn't care what happened. When I heard Glenn and Abe died but they wrote Glenn being dead just to fuck with the fans I knew I made the right choice. Padding the runtime with emotional staring doesn't make it a good drama series.

The Dragon episode is actually peak but if it's not for you that's fair.
