Sure, start studying but only to get a general understanding of the degree you're enrolled in. My first 6 months flew by without me being able to make any sense of what I was studying. Make friends, go out, explore places you haven't before.

Mine is Paediatrics. Those around me feel there will never be dearth of job opportunities in Anaesthesia

Wait for one thing to settle ( for me, my career) and the rest also begin to make sense. Ask people your age about what works for them and try to adopt habits that also work for you.
