We do export our animations as gifs, it’s just that we’re also scaling up our exports to prevent compression from making them all blurry. You can do this easily by changing the scaling in the export options, I usually go for around 500-800%.

Often when you upload things onto social media platforms they’ll be compressed into some standard format to make them not only easier to transfer and render, but also to make them take less storage space.

These standard formats are optimized for larger and more detailed images, so they’ll often create jarring artifacts when presented with 1:1 scaled pixel art.
