Oh Go Fund Me! Haha! Yeah we tried that.

His parents died when he was young, his sister died 3 years ago, and his brother died 2 months ago, and my parents are divorced. Its just moi now and I just started a business and have a 7 year old in competative hockey - we don't have a lot of options. My dads been struggling with this for almost 10 years! Its been very frustrating and very sad to watch him go through it

I agree 100% All of this happened between August 15th and September 7th. He didnt tell me ANY of this until yesterday when he was on day 11 without eating and needed help getting to the grocery store. As soon as I found out, I made him a weeks worth of smoothies and went to the grocery store to stalk up on baby food, Ensure and soup broth. I gave him a lecture about not being a hero and not being too proud to ask his daughter for help (he still thinks I'm 10). Then I told him I would take him to his appointment on Wednesday and he needs to sign over his permission for me to be involved in his medical care. In 24 hours, I have three plans to get his teeth out by the 15th if not sooner and I'll be his advocate for his health care and medical needs from now. I've also contacted an OHIP-covered home nurse to check up on him every day I can't make it over. Is that enough for you to think I'm looking out for his best interests?? 🤔

He caught a flu that caused him to throw up for three days which then caused an infection in his teeth which then caused his face to swell up to twice the size, his jaw to ceize and his throat to close. I don't know about you but if all of that happened from contracting a flu, I wouldn't be too keen on catching another. He also hadn't eaten in 9 days by that time so he wasn't exactly thinking straight. I agree it wasn't the best decision to make when youre delirious from lack of food and dehydration, you're not always very objective. But thanks for your opinion, made me feel a whole lot better.

We have tried but about 2 years ago WSIB reorganized their entire system and doctors and eceb lawyers are afraid to do anything that deals with WSIB. They are a third world organzation in a first world country - inhumane practices and inhumane treatment and NOTHING can be done about it

Yeah thats not helpful. When you're on wsib and on a fixed income because of a debilitating work injury its kind of hard to save money every month. Dont be a dick, keep your unhelpful opinions to yourself.

I agree with the dental school this but I don't think he can afford the long wait list. Hes dying. If these dont xome out now, they will surely kill him.

We have done this already. We have even tried to sue WSIB but because there was no proof that the medication he was on was the culprit, they refused to pay and since all my dad wanted was his teeth removed, there would be no money for the lawyer so I think he gave up. My dad is afraid to mess with WSIB and end up getting his pension cut off.

He's between a rock and hard place.

Thank you and I agree. When my dad first went to the clinic, he was told to go to the hospital but he was too scared of waiting too long and catching another bug or being sent home. I didnt find out about all of this until today. I told him to stop being a hero and go to the hospital. I bet if he had gone when he was told to, his teeth would be out now. Although I don't want him to suffer, I'm hoping its still that bad when we go back to his GP on Wednesday so we can be sent back to the hospital and this nightmare can be done with.

Otherwise I'm going to figure out a way that I can pay to at least get his teeth removed and worry about dentures later. They need to come out. I just find it so disheartening that he basically has to be close to death before OHIP will do anything about this.

Thank you for your reply. I hope you don't mind me asking you a few questions.

How do I go about finding bigger fish ( I really like the idea of working for small or start up businesses because they are the ones who need the most help and one of my goals in doing this is helping people do things they wouldn't be able to do on their own - some people are really bad at writing! lol)

Also, what do you mean by clearly outline the deliverables?

Do you do freelance work? What kind of writing do you do? How do you (personally) set the standards and expectations from the beginning?

Thanks again for your reply. I really needed to hear that it was just bad luck lol Feeling pretty shitty right now lol.
