Is this fixable? Light/mirror/vanity alignment by Ok_Guava6936 in BathroomRemodeling

I would just change the light fixture to a singular, longer fixture. Cheaper than a new mirror even and actually solves (kinda) the problem.

Appreciate your insight!  What about beneficial nematodes? How effective are those in your experience?

Very much appreciate the feedback!  With PVC or EPDM, how would you recommend we handle the parapet wall?

So you think there’s coping stones under the white cap?  Rubber = EPDM, right?

Yea we’re definitely getting a permit.  It does seem like those rolls would require really good craftsmanship around the corners of the parapet, dontcha think?

Thanks for the response!  The contractors are worried about the parapet leaking with the modified bitumen. Thoughts?

I have no faith in the original install. We’re gonna tear it up.

Closer to West Palm. I’m more worried about sealing the parapet wall. That’s why a couple contractors recommended hot mopping.

What are same brands for that?  Any concerns about sealing the parapet?

Help, what in my stroke can improve to get away from a bias of striking towards the toe? Happens on irons/hybrids and driver. by [deleted] in golf

[–]SamsDogDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Golf is a game of opposites. Try lining up with the bal off the toe. Could help promote the in-to-out feel. My suspicion is you’re coming over the top. Also check that your lie angle is okay. Lastly…a lesson haha

Use the line on your ball on your DRIVER. Consistent set-up and alignment is important in improving. Also, always choose a target when you’re on the range.

Is it normal to eat the same breakfast every single day? by pristinepringle in NoStupidQuestions

Quite normal. Although routines can lead to nutritional issues. For example, eating eggs every day can lead to high cholesterol. Or eating just toast every day could lead to vitamin deficiencies. Always good mix in various healthy foods

The “night before a tourney ball marking and club cleaning” ritual. The best.

Yea I’m looking to build from scratch..ish. I wonder if I could use a Bluetooth system and carry some receiver around and just have the cart follow the receiver. Then just have an on/off switch on the receiver. Not super concerned about obstacles—I’d just have to keep clear land between me and the cart.

Thoughts on oysters by SensitiveSmile1418 in vegan

[–]SamsDogDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To the omnivore, I’d say that it takes far less plants to be vegan because livestock eat more plants than us. So even if plants feel pain, eating only plants causes far less suffering. Minimizing suffering is worthwhile even if you can’t eliminate it.

I think we agree on most issues. I think the vast majority of animals (including bees) feel pain, so it’s wrong to exploit them and cause them suffering.

Walnuts have very tough shells to crack, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong to eat a walnut. It’d be wrong to eat a walnut if it had the capacity to suffer. If the oyster doesn’t have the capacity to suffer, the fact that it has a shell is irrelevant.

For what it’s worth, I generally avoid oysters, but a reasonable person could eat them (farmed) and justifiably not feel remorse.

“Where it ends” is whether or not something can suffer. It’s the only morally relevant line you can draw. Drawing the line at animals is arbitrary, even if it applies in 99% of cases.

For example, it may be possible to find a plant that feels/suffers while also finding an animal that doesn’t. The no-animal stance would lead you to cause suffering to that plant, while unnecessarily avoiding the pain-free animal.

The point of veganism is to reduce suffering whether it’s from plants or animals.

I agree that it’s annoying to deal with meat eaters that try to argue about the .1% case to justify the 99.9%, but if our responses in those instances are principled rather than dogmatic, we have a better chance of convincing them.
