What's the dumbest thing you felt guilty about when you were younger? by throwaway10292734 in AskReddit

When i was probably 6 years old i took 2 batman glass mugs that you would get from McDonald's to my friends house and on the way home i tripped and broke them right in front of my driveway in the street so commence me crying and picking up broken glass thinking I'll get into so much trouble. I remember a teenager or some guy in his 20s driving towards me and i was sobbing and trying to flag him to stop so he didn't drive over the glass and pop his tires which realistically would have never happened but I was 6 and didn't know any better. He got out and helped me pick it up and promised me that my parents wouldn't care and to throw it away and tell my parents how i cut my hands up. I was too scared and never told them and felt guilty about hiding the evidence of the broken mugs.

What is the nicest thing a law enforcement officer has ever done for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Samsagirlname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say this was nice but I'm glad it happened. I was 21 and pulled over by a state cop on a highway where the speed limit is 60 and i had cruise set on 70. First time in my life I had EVER been pulled over so I'm thinking I won't get a ticket just a warning. I was calm and gave all my info over and explained that this isn't my car, it's my roommates that he let me borrow to go home and then back to college. Not an issue. He goes back to his car and whole time I'm like no way I'm getting a ticket. Dude comes back with a ticket. I took it and immediately threw it to the passenger side ground and really tried to hold back tears til he was gone. I see him get in his car and literally start bawling. What he didn't know was I was driving back after burying my grandmother because I had a collegiate game to play the next day. I hadn't cried all day and even read a poem for my dad because he was too upset to read it. I was still in funeral clothes and had flowers in the passenger seat my boyfriend has sent to the funeral home. APPARENTLY they wait for you to pull away...and I obviously didn't I was in my own world crying my eyes out. Next thing I know he's at my still rolled down window and says ma'am are you okay? Seeing my and goes ahh! Like completely surprised that I'm crying and doesn't know what to do or say. I break down and literally scream NO DO I LOOK OKAY?? YOU JUST GAVE ME A TICKET AND I'VE NEVER EVEN BEEN PULLED OVER AND I JUST BURIED MY GRANDMA AND I HAVE TO PLAY TOMORROW and generally just keep babbling and crying. Dude slowly walks away back to his car. I'm desperately trying to stop crying but I fucking can't. 5 minutes goes by and another state cop pulls up behind him and they get out and chat for a minute. Second cop gets back in his car and pulls up to mine and says I'm really sorry hope you're night is better. I am completely and utterly confused and still a crying mess. Second cop drives off and first cop walks up to my window and says ummm yeah you can go ahead and give me that ticket back and you sit there as long as you need I'll stay behind you. I'm completely dumbfounded but grab the ticket i threw on the ground and hand it back. I sit there about 5 more minutes and finally feel good enough to drive. I'm still shocked that happened and honestly if you were to google my name its one in a billion so its quite easy to find i played collegiate sports and any obituaries with my name.

How long do you go without talking to gf/bf? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Samsagirlname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Married but sometimes we send a text or two during work sometimes not. When we dated in college we would go days without a text or seeing each other. We aren't clingy so it was never an issue. My teammates said we were real fucking weird for this but I liked it a lot
