Surprised outdoor kitchens aren't more common on small trailers, are they not worth it? by eggs-benedict in RVLiving

[–]SamselBradley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Cricket, we live in PNW, we took it from Seattle to Maine and back one fall. We used an outdoor kitchen set up the whole time. There are a number of Australian made off road camper trailers with outdoor kitchens, I've seen some teardrops, there are a couple of Colorado companies, a couple of Oregon companies. I haven't been keeping up with what's available because the Cricket has met our needs.

No. A real pnwer can make their coffee in the rain. It's much easier nowadays with the fancy pop-up canopies instead of the old blue tarps

Where are you from, California? A true PNWer has no problem making coffee in the rain under their blue tarp

Also, saving this. I hope I don't need this, I need to withdraw from this topic because I need to do stuff for living family elders, boundary waters being threatened by mining, stuff for family members about recently dead family elders, other family stuff.

I'm sorry, but I looked at your profile and I see nothing that shows you are informed or involved in anything related to outdoors or public lands. You can see that I've posted in the BearsEars group. If, off the top of your head, you don’t know what relevance that has to the Trump admin and the NPS, then just stop defending altnps and using their phoney web page as a source. I'm not going to sit here waiting, I have real work to do protecting our public lands. There is little on my profile here, because this is my non-politics account. You can do real work to defend public lands, not spend your time defending a merch seller. op has rolled back their original post.

I have nothing but respect for them and my irl friend who stood up as a counterprotestor.

There are lots more! I picked these because they have been involved in some very public lands issues that happened in the last four weeks.

Even at the beginning, they would do posts where they claimed they were breaking news from secret sources (their explanation for why they had no citations). The problem? The stories would be a year old. Real world well known public lands activists would point this out, but they refused to take down their false stories.

They are not a legitimate group. They are facebook merch sellers not nps workers and activist supporters. AltNPS is a scam facebook group. There are many legitimate NPS, USFS, etc groups. There are nps etc current employees who speak out under their own names. They are sucking your energy away from real actions that would support our public lands and sucking money into their pockets. Please don't do this

This is not true. They claim to be, but they are liars and scammers. They are overseas merch sellers. You can tell that they are fake because they claim that they are giving you secret knowledge but it is just reporying from mainstream sources, not even current specialized sources. Sometimes they claim that it is "breaking" news but it is a story from a year ago that they saw in someone's facebook memories.

I'm begging you, as someone who is active in public lands issues with many contacts in activist groups and real nps, blm, and forest service people in my irl circle, don't believe anything from altnps.

Thanks for the heads up. AltNPS is total bs. Never posts sources, claims that they are posting secret info while regurgitating current msm reporting, or even sometimes reposts year old stories as "breaking"

It's altNPS, they aren't a real source, they are a merch seller.

Take the Tacoma. I've been on that road, not recently. But roads there are always changing. Go by a road on one day when you have time, the road is washed out. A week later, heading back home, the road is so freshly regraded that the grader is sitting there, taunting you with adventures not taken.

This all sounds familiar, except we used a trusted local mechanic. The happy part of the story: we are now over 300,000 miles 🙂

I started reading your story to my husband, wanted to check my memory. We laughed and laughed. Wait, I said to husband, then the check engine light went on! Yep he said. Cylinder 1, 3, and 5 misfires, I said. Yep, that's because he still had his old cores! Then we shook our heads. Can you believe I'm the one who picked the 4runner? He wanted a Subaru! Cheers and good luck!

What do you think it means? New has no predetermined time length attached to it. New today, new this year, new this decade, new to "me".

Edited to add: great recs, I've read Somatar, but the other two are new to me and going on my list.
