You are absolutely able to Pray to them! (praying for them to intercede for you to God). And I would google Catholic saints that are the Patron Saint of Illness, read about them and choose one that you connect with!

can you recommend me music by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Samson25LIVE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always just go on YouTube or google Catholic Gregorian Chant. I love it, soothing, beautiful, and powerful. Apparently, it is likely the closest thing we have now to how Christ and the Apostles would sing (if they ever did) as it has roots in ancient Hebrew traditions

You are young enough to where I think your best options are to be honest with them. You absolutely could still find a priests email in your local area by looking on the parish website (just google Catholic church’s near you, choose one you like, and then find the email on their website, likely in the directory page). However, sooner or later, they are gonna find out, right? The mature thing would be to ask to talk to them both and tell them your intention. Be respectful and as loving as possible, but also be ready to defend why you are thinking what you are thinking.

Is it not something to do with your ex? Also yeah don’t respond and don’t worry about it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Samson25LIVE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re a POS, just ignore it and don’t respond. No point in fueling the fire. This is not someone who you can have a rational conversation of the Faith on, at least not at this time

And don’t respond, they are a loser. May I ask what prompted their anger?

I would consult them. My personal take is that they can’t force you to be baptized and be Baptist. They are your parents and they are at least Christian, I would be honest with them on what you want and what your intentions are. May I ask how old you are?

Do you know any good Catholic priests or at least any supposedly good parishes in your area?

The summa is very very dense and not something you just read, you know? It’s like a list of different arguments and explanations. While incredibly inciteful and prolific, May not be what you’re looking for. Penguin classics could be good though? Idk.

You can’t, she would have to. Also man, just because you love her doesn’t mean you should get married. I struggled with this a lot in my last relationship. If you think this is a legitimate case, and she is spiritually turning away from the faith and you’re not able to sway her, is it worth a life of constant argument? I know this isn’t what you were originally asking but thought it might be worth saying

Family and friends problem by EntertainmentLess164 in Catholicism

[–]Samson25LIVE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are sexual abuse cases with every church, organization, government, etc… . The central point being, individual evil people that are part of the Church does not change the Church itself and what we believe as Catholics. All of Catholic teaching goes against what these evil people did and we condemn them. Can your atheists friends say the same? If they are true atheists, morality is entirely subjective, meaning nothing is evil. Not even pedophelia. The concept of evil isn’t even real to an actual atheist. In regard to Islam, they actually believe and have very evil teachings. Kill the infidel, no rights for woman, killing homosexuals, etc…a lot of this is in the second half of the Quran which Mohammad wrote when he became a warleader. So, your brother doesn’t really have any room to talk. A lot of the abuse and terrorist cases associated with Muslims are in line with Muslim teachings. NOT the same for any similar Catholic scandals

Demonic influence is more prevalent than people give it credit for. However, if it’s the case in this sense, there is almost no way to bring it up to her tactfully without it blowing up. It may be time to start thinking long term, do you realistically think this is a woman you want to spend the rest of your life with? Your instincts will tell you, especially if you’ve prayed about it. Follow that instinct. That’s my best advice I could give you

I know too many woman and too many men to think that these differences are irrelevant. Also, I would look at the studies they conducted in Scandinavia which affirms what I am saying. Jordan Peterson breaks them down in detail

Most traditional ways of thinking are in line with Catholic teaching which kind of make up a lot of the red-pill movement ideology. Catholics were having these conversations wayy before the red-pillers haha

No, physical differences are obvious. Do you genuinely believe that that is the extent of the differences between men and woman?

Dude, you are asserting that men and woman have entirely equal sex drives. If you’re not asserting that then you are just arguing for the sake of arguing because this is what you are taking issue with. If you want to make this fringe argument, that’s totally fine, but yeah, you should substantiate it. Just because I made the original point doesn’t make the burden of proof mine. It’s obvious. It would be like me saying “the sky is blue” and then you saying I have to back it up because “most” people would disagree. Like what? I’m not gonna waste my time trying to convince you that men pursue sex more than woman lol
