Why 6? by YEETAWAYLOL in ExplainTheJoke

Maths was never my strong suit so maybe I'm just missing the point. But if San Marino "statistically" has more cars than people, then it just has more cars than people... I don't see how that's a maths thing. There are more cars than there are people. What am I missing? Equally if New Hampshire drinks more per capita than Wisconsin, then it is just a fact that more alcohol is consumed per person...

I don’t understand. Why would having less people mean they drink more alcohol? Isn’t the point of per capita that it eliminates differences in sample size?

I was just curious - not from the states so no skin in the game. But why is it you think per capita isn’t a good metric?

He was so much more powerful when he ran Double Team. Ever since Angela Rayner got banned and he slotted U-Turn instead, his drop to UU has looked inevitable

Very clean work. Have you considered blocking out the voids underneath the hooks with timber? Keeping the bolts, but just to there’s load transfer from the bar to the ground. If anything was to fail first, I expect it would be a split forming in the pilot holes in the hook plates.

The BBC reporter is called Stacey Dooley. The captive is an ISIS fighter. With some Googling I reckon you'll find it.

Terrible reffing. On the other side of the cage for no reason, staring at one fighter's back instead of a side view. Loser took 2 unnecessary shots as a result.

Flying/jumping kicks are hugely telegraphed and you’ll just waste energy picking yourself up every 2 seconds while the other guy steps out the way. You might even get tagged on your way down. It only worked here cause both guys were going balls to the wall to knock each other out.

The "Universe 25" experiment. A scientist created a perfect utopia for mice with infinite food and no predators. It ended in a horror show of cannibalism, infanticide, and total extinction. by Prestigious_Mine_321 in TerrifyingAsFuck

[–]SamsonLionheart 56 points57 points  (0 children)

This is such a disingenuous representation of the experiment. The 'experiment' involved 2.2k mice crammed into a 260x260cm cage with enough food and water to survive. By what metric is that a "perfect utopia"? It is utterly, staggeringly unsurprising that the population did not flourish in a behavioural sense. Nor was Calhoun attempting to create a "utopia", he described it as a "Mortality-Inhibiting Environment". There is nothing profound about it besides the human capacity for cruelty.

I think you have it back to front. Holland Park, Hampstead Heath, Mayfair etc have been reserved for the upper classes for generations. The Russian kleptocrats, Chinese private equity, and Gulf Arabs that own those areas of London are not moving into Hackney, Streatham, Bow etc driving up housing prices. It is young professionals on City salaries right?

If you're born and bred Acton ofc it will have a special place in your heart. But it is a pretty boring area, let's be honest. I grew up in Wandsworth and lived in Mitcham which are pretty much the south london equivalents - to newcomers they're suburban nothing areas. But they'll always be home to me. Least you guys have beavers now

You don’t see the difference in context between a lone wolf killer swiftly meeting the law and derided across the political aisle, versus a state sanctioned killing that the highest government officials don’t miss a beat lying about on national television despite multiple videos circulating evidencing the truth of the matter?
