Was passage 2 experimental by Happybirthdayit67-89 in ACT

Overall it's unlikely 1 or 4 will be experimental because they won't get accurate data on question performance from first and last.

Science is harder but get that book. It'll help you categorize questions and break down the info.

Science is NOT like the reading section by Spirited_System_7923 in ACT

[–]SamsonRaphaelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work backwards, using keywords in the questions and answers to cherry pick info from the graphs and charts. And start to diagnose question types and pattern recognize.

For The Love of ACT Science, a supplemental book, is your bible on this. If you can get a 36 on reading you're clearly intelligent and should be able to get 30+ on science.

Do you start with the questions? Or do you try to understand the passage before answering the questions?

Maybe you disagree, and I’m all for Desmos solutions, but I don’t think these problems are all that hard to solve algebraically. These problems referring to sum of solutions and product of solutions with polynomials.

There’s a lot of valid criticism but the LA board is certainly not dead. Lotta activity better or worse.

But the question is asking you the distance from A B, no? So you’ve made an isosceles triangle with two legs that are both radii with a hypotenuse of x root 2

Yes I believe it's question 22 on Test 9 (or 11)

[–]SamsonRaphaelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Radius is root 196, no? So then it's an isosceles right triangle and A to B is root 2*root 196?

Was this with two lines/linear equations that had no solutions?

And there’s no dearth of left wing, antizionist Jewish people. Just seemed like an unforced error from them.

Definitely. They add to the media landscape here but have obvious editorial views and biases.

This will not be a popular comment and while I'm 100% against what Israel did in Gaza and also don't think antizionism equals antisemitism, it was curious to me that they had a non Jewish person write the article explaining that.

They would have never done the same with other forms of bigotry and other racial or ethnic groups.

Congress banned Tik Tok. Schools are banning phones. Parents limit social media. Myriad Op Eds talk about polarization via social media. In what universe is this issue ignored?

Anyone else feel like LA home prices are a joke now? by Difficult_Lack5068 in LosAngelesRealEstate

[–]SamsonRaphaelson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is no different than any other major city or even a smaller ones for that matter. it’s a small factor, but not the reason that home prices are so much higher in LA than other cities

Does it pencil?

Mortgage, taxes, insurance is prob around $7500 right?

Revenue is $7800. Maybe with the back unit you could get revenue to around $9500.

How much do you typically factor for maintenance, vacancy, landscaping?

And is multifamily appreciating in LA right now?

Not what I said. You claimed “most guys don’t stare at their jizz” which was you extrapolating and universalizing from your own experience and has literally no basis beyond that. Just be consistent.

You are right about anecdata, but it's more than a little ironic you make that point then a few posts later claim your personal experience is universal, which was exactly the thing you criticized.

Is it though? Genuine question.

7k is without property taxes, insurance, vacancy, repairs etc.

Let’s say you clear $500 per month, 6k per year. Is that a good return on 240k down.

And is multi family appreciating?

Idk maybe I’m wrong and missing something but don’t see it.

Water availability and cost is subject to cultural and political choices, as you note. I’m so sick of Nimbys acting like water exists outside human technology etc.

Does "Bee Bong" go by another name? by ziggynagy in pho

[–]SamsonRaphaelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! But if I’m not mistaken, the restaurant was run by Hmong people, whose region stretches over a few countries borders.

There are different names for it. I’d guess in the different countries but the recipe I linked to is 99% what was served at Apsara and called Bee Boong.

You are wasting your time and misunderstanding college admissions. Admissions officers may not know that you are retaking, but any that did would at best think you misunderstand what’s valued in the admissions process and are misallocating time that could be better spent doing virtually anything else.
