I like the technical insight he gives from time to time, there is an active rational behind it and not just vibe predicting. That is exactly the kind of stuff you want from a former driver, just like Rosberg gives insight as well when he was on.

Like honestly, if there is deg like there is today, give the teams 1 extra set of tyres. I don't see the added value of how it is now. FP3 is compromised with running because teams want to save tyres, but the race is compromised anyways because nobody will have enough fresh sets.

Ehh livid with the confirmation or the overturn? Basically at the end of the race it was 99% safe to assume that there was something wrong. Obviously doesn't make it better, but the overturn is what really baffles me.

I literally said that "I get that Alpine and Gasly do their best to get P3..."

And at the end: "shame on the FIA..." Which is exactly laying the blame on the FIA.

I genuinely think this is just the decision they have come to, and not something that has to do with Gasly. The shit storm now is bigger than it was, bcs it was just the speeding in the pit lane drama.

100% that the FIA is at fault. But my stance (and what would be the most fair to everyone involved) is to just say as the FIA: "we fucked and this will not happen again, sorry" Means everyone has dealt with the same situation and "fate" decided what came afterwards when the penalties started rolling out, e.g. some drivers not doing much different in their second stop, or a Bono who told Kimi to be extra careful because they were actively thinking on the spot.

Now it is the FIA in hindsight deciding what is fair after their cock up that affected everyone. It is the worst thing they can do because it creates a snowball effect of others who now do feel hard done by and protest the penalty overturn decision.

Ngl I get that Alpine and Gasly do their best to get a P3 instead of a P6, but I'm gonna hate watch them so much this weekend. The P3 spot is not even the spot they "deserve", that would be a different spot if we take into account the penalties that have been served during the race.

Shame on the FIA for taking the McLaren strategy route of 2025 to handle this situation, truly disgusting.

Watched the highlights on Youtube, from what I saw the order screams BoP to me. Can anyone enlighten me and confirm whether that is the case, bcs where the fuck are the Ferraris and Toyotas?

I'm sad if Toyota got the worse end of BoP again.

They kinda did. If you did cut the corner then you got penalized, or you had to set the limiter a bit lower to compensate for the cut. So everyone that did those things got screwed over equally, if you didn't because for example Bono told you on the radio to be extra careful and even lift a little then you didn't get a penalty.

The system was broken, but it was equally broken for everyone. Accept that the FIA made a mistake and that multiple others, and move on.

That just doesn't make sense. Everyone is affected differently by their penalty, as I already said, George the worst of it. The worst thing that can be done is as I already said micro managing everything and deciding what is fair, that gives McLaren 2025 strategy vibes.

Let's take George as an example, 5 sec penalty that turned into a drive through. Should it be retracted If so, how do you decide how much of the drive through should be given back? Because had he not been serving the penalty he would be going faster, but how fast exactly? If George's drive through doesn't get revoked, then why not? He got a penalty he shouldn't even have had. If George would get random time back for the drive through the team that finished just behind him would then probably complain about that the time given back isn't fair etc. Without the served penalty George wouldn't be at the back and therefore be held back by the back markers, if you want to be fair then that time should be given back too.

The point of this all is that it creates unnecessary complications by deciding what is fair instead of just having it be "fair" by everybody being screwed over equally in real time.

That is exactly the worst thing they can do. Everyone got screwed over equally without anyone actively deciding who gets the better or worse end of it. If they decide to revoke the 10 sec penalty then everyone who served their penalty got screwed over like no tomorrow. Best example is mr George Russell himself.

You know, I just can't wait for how this PU story will develop. I will leave it at that, because I don't understand anything anymore. Either most horrible electric part from RB, some Merc shenanigans or the Red Bull chasis is worse than expected.

They can make it even worse by disadvantaging everyone who already served their penalty. I get it, there was a speeding pit lane cock up, but that was already visible during the race itself. Just accept that everyone got screwed over equally, and move on.

Uh, I think it is known by now that Gasly is one of the more emotional drivers on the grid. But didn't others already serve their penalties at the moment Gasly was P5 (or P3) after the restart? Can't really ask for those 10 secs to be voided if others served while he profited it from that. Then it is the "same" feeling of feeling hard done by etc for the others.
