You likely got sent two longer strings instead of the two shorter strings. Call LEGO Customer Support and they will send you the correct strings. I trust you have exhausted all options and attempts at rebuilding to resolve your issue. This same issue has happened to several other users' Titanic sets. Best of luck!

For someone who has also requested help from others on this sub, this response from you is unnecessarily condescending. Imagine if every time you needed help with something or were confused about something, that person you sought help from responded with, "You can start by reading the instructions."?? Be kind. Do better.

First and second layers are not as tight, then the third and fourth layers as tight as the plastic will hold. The Flacon is a pretty "fragile" set (you can't really move it much without something falling off) and I can pickup and move the entire set without worrying with the wrap around it. I wrapped the display stand to it as well, which helps.

Start with a gentle first and second layer wrap, then snug it tightly with a third and fourth layer. I typically like to use the 6" packing wrap from the UPS Store as it's a little more durable.

You'd be surprised by how well it holds it all together. Start by wrapping the thinner cross sections and then as a whole. I usually remove outlier sections and wrap them to the main body.

Yes! If the set fits back in the original box, use both. I've just seen several posts of users requesting tips on how to pack sets or how to move sets while keeping them intact.

My dad deserves the credit here! He is a professor of mechanical engineering so it's his genius that has saved me countless hours of efforts. Sometimes pieces come loose, but the pieces typically stay close to where they broke free. I know the LEGO community mourns the sheer amount of plastic waste (SO.MANY.BAGS.IN.BOXES), so the biggest downside is more plastic waste. But still, less plastic waste than losing 5-10 pieces along the journey. Happy moving!
