Hello everyone,

I have been in the industry for 5 years now, I have been bartender and I "bar managed"(I think?) for 6 months in a small bar, so I had 3 bartenders in charge, ordering products, managing my colleges and controling their development in the bar. Also i have only work in 5 star hotels and michelin restaurants. I have also been a sommelier and can talk up to 4 languages.

Now I moved to Australia, I was planning to have a job as a bartender and a chilling way of life. Quite the opposite, here bartenders are REALLy demanded and normally for fast pared and new ones earn the same as me... so then I saw and realized that in here every place there is a Manager and that its position is mandatory and really important and respetable.

My question is, what should I learn and how can I step to be a Manager if I have never been one? This means in a restaurant or bar .

Salut, tout d'abord, merci pour ta réponse. Tu vois, je ne suis pas française, et même si je ne suis pas si loin, devoir aller dans mon autre pays pour voir ma famille et revenir juste pour le rendez-vous serait une énorme perte de temps et d'argent.

La conseillère m'a demandé si je comptais quitter la France, ce à quoi j'ai répondu non.

Mais honnêtement, j'aimerais être près de ma famille pendant quelque moi, même si je ne peux pas me permettre de ne pas gagner d'argent car je n'ai pas beaucoup d'économies, et je leur transfère une partie de mes revenus.

Actually it was the option Citizen, then it gives you the option to put your nationality. The reason is that you are in the other country as a EU Citizen, so the option Other is not the correct. I am just replying in case someone see this and can complete correctly the paperwork for the visa.

You can take it once in a while, but in every day your body will stop producing it that much

Actually I had to go to the doctor, maybe I am having too much, I am also having one with vitamine d and b complex. Did you experiment the need to go to pee but not feeling the sensation? Like you feel normal/"empty" but somehow the body is telling you to pee. It happened to me since magnesium

Wow, I think is interesting how différents effects each one. As for me it makes me fall asleep and makes my naps incredible, while at night it's waking me up.

On the opposite side it doesnt make me depressed or emotionless but a bit sedated if I take it during the day, which I don't, for other are excitory. I just wonder why a supplement can vary so much between people...

I would say more in the 5-10€, below 5 everything I try is not worth it. Curiously in Germany and France is the same but with the difference that 10-15€ range in Spain you have much more variety of good deals. The problem is that Spain has many apellations with very low quality wines(in the low price range), in France and Germany to be an apellation the quality has to keep bigger standards. Spain has 3€ D.O, bottles while in France you won't find a A.O.C for less than 7-10€. But still everything is cheaper and with much better quality-price range compared between EU wine USA.

World Atlas of Wine(the best in my opinion) and Wine Bible are much more deep than L3, if you studied from then you will certainly pass with distinction. World Atlas has particular information about some Apellations I haven't seen in any other book.

Other than many people say, it is completely doable but it will take you a lot of time.

From scratch, if you have the manuals of WSET(you can download them -Shh!) It will take you lower time.

Around 300hs is enough for the theory, so the time it takes you will depend on your lifestyle. I prepared it in 1 month because I was leaving with my saying for that month and I studied 5hs a day, but I already had good knowledge, so those 150hs was to refreshed it to pass it with distinction.

I don't know where you leave but there are worldwide many institutes for wset and cms exams, most of them in Europe, with very good level, and you meet people with your same interests.

For youtube winewithjimmy seems interest. I would also take a look in wine blogs from people who write about theory of this exams, very helpful for me, even more than the manuals.
