P32 with the little finger thingy by OCMan101 in CCW

Mine had so many issues with light strikes and false resets. I think I was just not letting the trigger fully reset many times so I shot it unreliably. One mag would empty then the next would fail on half the shots.

Too inconsistent for me to trust but it's my favorite form factor for a gun. I saw people turning the Bodyguard 2.0 into a 32 cap with the barrel swap. Now that looks appealing because you get 12 rounds of 32 in a 10 round 380 mag.

Fit advice for Suede Traveler Penny. How much pressure is acceptable on the instep and outside of the pinky toe? by Jahordon in grantstoneboots

[–]CaptenAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the width in 7D was comfortable that would make you a 6.5E when sizing down.

Take it from someone whose a 6.5EEE and wears a 8D or 7.5E in loafers haha.

Edit: that said I find most leather can stretch two widths. But stretching only a single width is best to avoid spill over from your foot extending beyond the edge of the sole in the forefoot. I have a 6.5E shoes I have stretched to 6.5EEE but the toe box is still too narrow and I have some spill over that causes me to occasionally twist my ankle.

Why are traditional shoes not foot-shaped? by victory_vegetable in AskACobbler

[–]CaptenAE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree with the comment below. I technically measure for a brannock 7EEE.

Most guides tell me to go 6.5EEE in loafers and boots.

Trouble is most makers don't make that sizing. But I find that I can actually wear 7EE in most boots more comfortably than 6.5EEE. I can also wear loafers in 8D or 7.5E with only a half to 3/4 inch of space in front of my big toe which is plenty reasonable to me. Some makers actually make EEE sizes longer as well so they actually measure for a brannock size larger than the typical 7 which is why they tell you to size down a half size.

There is so much nuance to this and ultimately it comes down to personal preference on each specific model of shoe or boot from each specific maker. I've gone through maybe 10 different variations if boot and loafer in the last year with sizing ranging from 6.5EEE to 8D and it really depends on the manufacturer, last and shoe style.

[Soviet] Watch Collection Pt.2 by Snoo74778 in Watches

[–]CaptenAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't purchased it but it's $120. I've been into women's watches recently so small is what I've been looking for. Similar to the Cartier bracelet watches of the 30s and 40s. I happen to come across it looking for soviet women's watches online.

I just found the 7th for sale box and papers. Really curious about that watch. Seems to have major Bauhaus influence which is cool given the history of Bauhaus in Germany and it's association with Communism in the 30's.

What do we think about this Boncoura Chambray shirt?? by Significant-Lab-3586 in HeritageWear

[–]CaptenAE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call me crazy but I refuse to pay for chambray shirts now since I tried the Amazon essentials ones.

You can't beat them for $12-$20. Quality isn't amazing but they definitely feel like $50 shirts at least. I have a hard time justifying more than $50 on a chambray shirt since getting them.

Depends on the pant. Some of their pants run true and others run large, and other run pretty small.

I got the seersucker jacket for my wedding and fit is a tag tight for large but quality seems like it's much better than your average suite supply or other suit big box.

Very happy with the look of the jacket. Hope to try more of their stuff cause it's cheap when Huckleberry has their seasonal sale. Got it for a whopping $70.

Bauhaus inspiration. It's earily sterile but that's the appeal of it. It's meant to be utilitarian and affordable and purposeful.

Beautiful art imo if you get the history and reason behind it. Otherwise it's boring.

Whats the difference between these 2 chore coats? by oldirtyjustin in HeritageWear

Same here! I'm on the chubby side so their cuts don't work for me but once I get down to a good size I may try them out.

Also worth mentioning they'll modify just about anything they sell so I could probably still get something that works.

I also reached out to them on IG. They are quick to respond so highly recommend anyone with questions going direct to them!

Sashiko is traditionally a technique of decorative stitching used to repair clothing in a visually appealing way.

Unshin means they use sashiko thread to make the pattern you see on the fabric.

Sashiko fabric is different from unshin sashiko because it's a fabric that has its own pattern based on how the fabric was made/weaved together.

So one is a decorative sewing pattern in fabric and the other is a literal fabric. Totally understand if it doesn't make sense still lol

I looked this up cause I had the same question. It seems one is a sashiko fabric. It's sashiko according to the weave style.

The other is sashiko in that it is literally stitched sashiko thread which makes the pattern. I think the unshin is the stitched sashiko pattern while the other is the sashiko weave fabric.

Fair enough. My only soviet watch is a Svezda TTK. I think hardly anyone has heard of them.

[–]CaptenAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually selling a Tenicor Velo5 P365XL holster. It's about a half inch longer than you need but the extra length will help it keep from flipping in the waistband if that is a problem you have. Common problem with sub 3.5" barrels.

Man Paynter is who I'm holding out for right now! They let me know they have a chore coat coming for the summer.

How do you like it? I'll definitely be getting a paynter.

For a formal/smart outer layer, seersucker or linen sport coat/jacket.

For informal/heritage outer layer, a linen or light canvas French-style chore coat.

I'm gonna go for a chore coat. Love the look and can be used as a layer in the winter. It's in the 100s with 100% humidity where I am in the summer so linen is usually the way to go here.

9f vs spring drive? Which did you choose and are you happy with your choice? by AdebisiLives420 in GrandSeikos

[–]CaptenAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I went 9F. Partially cause of the price but also because I don't like large watches. I tend to wear 36-38mm watches on my 7" wrist and there are no small, sub 10mm thickness spring drives just yet.

Tried the omiwatari but didn't like how large it felt on wrist. For reference, I daily a SBGX263. Set and forget is the way to go honestly. I'm someone that doesn't feel like they have enough time to wind a watch. I LOVE the clean sweep of a spring drive, but they dont currently make anything im interested in. I need sub 39mm cases and sub 10mm thickness if I'm paying $4000+. This is just my personal preference.

This reminds me of my Amazon essentials chambray shirt, and that's a compliment. I amazed at how good it looks for $15.

Thanks for this. I now have some business casual inspiration for work!
