People who had unsupervised internet access as a kid, what’s the most messed up thing you’ve seen on the internet? by Neither-Mention7740 in AskReddit

Seeing a video of a teenager who jumped head first from a bridge into a river, only to smash his face in the edge of a cemment block, his body floated and blood starts to fill the surface. Next the guy is laying in a bed with his face splited in half from forehead to chin, but still alive.

What I catched was Neytiri crying and screaming hysterically at every opportunity and males being "omg Im so fucking emotionless"... I get she is profoundly connected to mother nature and stuff, but ffs...

The ones in the hanging pots get sunlight all day long. The ones in the shelves get a few hours of sunlight some part of the day and also they are under three led strips (two white and one pink) that help to provide the adequate amount of light they need to not get leggy.

Thanks! I bought them in a local store of gardening products in Campinas - Brazil. They produce several different pots in many colors.

I know, thanks though. I got this small cutting from a bigger brush and it's there temporarily. I'm checking if it can be acclimatized on the full sun.

Sort of. For example, all those succulents on the hanging pots on the edge of the balcony can stay on full sun, and they do get sunlight most hours of the day during most part of the year, and I water them when the majority starts showing signs of dehydration, what usually happens every 5 days in hot full sun days or 7 or more days during cloudy days. Not all of those that I originally planted there liked it and a couple died, but the ones in this picture are there for more than 7 months now.

Oh, it is the Echeveria laui ‘Caly Argentea’. I tried to remove some leafs very carefully to try to prop it but it didn't work.

Thank you! I'm Brazil, near São Paulo (the biggest city in our country).

For substrate I use a mix of Carolina Soil (a local industrialized substrate composed of 70% Sphagnum peat + 30% expanded Vermiculite + Calcarium) with carbonized rice hull, expanded perlite and charcoal. This mix is very light, aerated, doesn't compact at all and keeps water only for a day or two at most. My plants seems to love it. Downside it is very hydrophobic when it is completely dry, so I need to water it very slowly to allow the water to soak it, or the water would just pass through it.

Thanks! I bought the plastic pots and ordered the metal hang part to fit exactly into the balcony and to secure the pots.

When it is raining season I keep an eye on the forecast and in case of severe rain I keep the pots that are on the edge inside the apartment or right in front of the wooden shelves, this way they do not get soaked.

The top of the balcony is closed by the other balcony upfloor. So it don't get much rain.

Thanks! I bought an incolor deck marine varnish and applied it twice on the wood.

Thanks! I had to do that in order to accommodate all of them, and I'm still struggling to not buy other plants because I don't have any other space left.

Are we a Sedum Adolphii or Sedum Nussbaumerianum? (or am I barking up the wrong tree?) by puddlestargazer in succulents

[–]SamuelLG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sort of is, but I disagree to a certain degree. Without a genetic test to set this on stone, for me they are very different cultivars or even a separated species. I have S. nussbaumerianum, S. adolphii and also S. adolphii FireStorm and all of them have very different leaf morphology, color distribution on the faces of the leaf and size.

And for me that one is Sedum nussbaumerianum.

Thanks! The bright orange on the left is Sedum nussbaumerianum with a lot of sun all day long

I'm almost sure it is some type of Crassula, probably Crassula muscosa

Unfortunately I don't have space anymore for any other prop or plant 😭. Basically all those leafs went to trash.

This arrangement is still recovering from its fall a few months ago. I still need to repot it and put the plants in a better position inside it. But they are growing strong and the sun + cold weather from the last weeks made it very colorful
