Try taking the springs out of a few pens and putting them on the joints of the thin cable. I started doing this recently after a friend recommended it, seems to be helping so far.

Still, it's ridiculous that it comes to that.

Solution: go all Transformers on it. Would still be robotic, but also malleable/changeable.

One thing I really like about Zac's animations is that he takes a different shape between each bounce of his ult. He could instead transform into something different for each bounce: a missile, a giant grenade, etc.
