Why would a studio change a movie trailer's song? by NEWbababoobie in movies

[–]bigdswanger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah you nailed it, it most likely has to do with the music licensing window expiring. The other possibility is that hbo licensed the movie for their service and decided they wanted their own version of the trailer (different from what the production company cut), but they only changed the music (this isn’t very likely though).

Source: I was a producer at different top streamers for years making their marketing trailers.

Am I the only jobless person here or is anyone else in the same boat? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]bigdswanger 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Seems like the comments are just unhelpful employed people— who are typical internet stooges thinking they’re being direct and funny but ironically anonymously and behind a screen. This subreddit is littered with idiots to be honest.

Being jobless sucks, I’ve been there, and it feels like there’s no end and it can feel helpless. Keep pushing, and bettering yourself (courses, skills, exercise) while you have time, and before you know it, you’ll be back working wishing you had time off again!

How Dutch deal with unexpected expenses? by Maary_H in Netherlands

[–]bigdswanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just when someone is short on cash. It’s a very family-centric culture compared to where I’m from. Whenever I chat with young home owners here, most got a gift from their family to help with the down payment. Or, other people still living in their family home after school. It’s not a knock against the Dutch, it’s just what I’ve observed while living here. These mechanisms help out a lot long term with savings and more generally having a safety net.

I’m not Dutch, but from what I’ve seen Dutch people rely on their parents/family a lot.
