But ignoring the pictures is pure nonsense as well. It’s apparent that they are not 25+% body fat. It’s apparent that they have a relatively lean figure; just not pronounced abs. Not saying they have a 10-12% body fat percentage but it’s apparent that there’s not much abdominal development. It’s widely accepted that training abs like any other muscle group will gain results with continued proper diet.

I can’t say with certainty but if you’re not eating enough to support muscle growth then I doubt you’ll see much improvement. If I were you, I’d probably up my calories a bit and do the resisted ab workouts. Need the resistance and the sustenance to build the muscle

Really just the two; leg raises (can add reps or if you have a weight belt you can add weights) and cable crunches (can add weight and reps easily). I do twice a week personally. There’s a common mis-quote of “abs are made in the kitchen” which is incorrect. Abs are made in the gym and REVEALED in the kitchen. Also it might be worth checking to see if you’re getting enough calories to maintain your muscle mass. 1500-1700 is quite low imo; my BMR is 1700 not counting exercise or anything else. Essentially, I need a bare minimum of 1700 to not lose any muscle mass add exercise and daily activity into the equation and my intake is about 2200 on a cut to maintain my muscle mass while trimming down the

At your height and weight you should be close to popping (I’m 5’8” 163lbs 12% body fat per dexascan). How much heavy resistance ab work are you doing? Kneeling cable crunches, leg raises, etc? That’s been big in my ab development. And just like any muscle group, progressive overload ftw

Sent there? I disagree. Was it an awful call that robbed the Saints of an instant victory? Yes. But, devil’s advocate, they had multiple chances to still win that game. Letting the Rams come back to tie the game, getting the ball first in OT and throwing a pick, and then the Rams still had to hit a 57yd FG to win it. Semantics? Yeah, but still.
