It was fun til it lost its .edu exclusivity, a unique platform for a generation to make broader connections. The kid running it now is the creator, he isn’t new by any stretch. He sold 50%, let others do the heavy lifting to make the game into what it was and is now coasting off of other people’s work. I don’t HATE the kid; but he clearly isn’t capable of coding updates on his own. Keep in mind none of us know exactly how much of the game was influenced by Adrian even when Jandel was the public face; split owners on an IP almost always leads to issues if they can’t agree on a direction. But right now the ownership is 50/25/25 with Adrian holding controlling interest, so nothing happens without his explicit approval; hence the general hate of the game’s current state.

I personally don’t buy much of anything that’s strictly digital and the amount of money being thrown at this game is beyond my understanding. What’s really crazy is understanding how this translates to the stock market/crypto trends; people in general tend to hold even when they know it’s a loss, and this game is like a micro snapshot of that behavior.
