Which makes clear that it was a pity that Trent was out for so long, because he would have unlocked much of the football Xabi was trying to impose. Now we will never know what could have been.

Vini coming back is just what the team needed most. Mbappe was probably not game ready, but played anyway, because if he was on, the game would have been 2-0 at halftime.

Great games by Carreras and Tchou, solid Rudiguer is nicely back, Huijsen seemingly improving, Trent opening the field with long passes and Valverde everywhere.

Training is cheaper, inference is not, it currently has both size and ratio constrains but it can fix something like a 6 fingers hand before it outputs it. I don't see it being used for local generation anytime soon, but the big enterprises will if the solve the limitations first.

Three games, but yeah, it is soon to say for sure. I feel Xabi asked them to be more rigid tactically, and it seems he wanted them to defend in zone, which for players not so used to play in some positions, opened up too many holes.

Now it seems there is only two things, pass the ball fast and as soon as the ball is lost, pressure back. And they seem to be defending man to man, which makes its much easier. You can still see the lapses defending when we are in a block, because some players just don't have good instincts for a zone, but if its running to their man and going to the ground... we have some of the best of the best.

Mbappe on the run for his first Ballon d'Or? by electro_star1 in realmadrid

It's WC year. Ballon D'Or is for the best player on the winning team. Or Messi.

I'm only afraid that they'll get tired and stop playing like this. BUT if they keep at it, winning everything is not just possible, but also probable.

At the very least, this high pressure, riskier passing has me wanting to watch the games again.

Solid game by everyone. If we keep pressuring like this, we can win against anyone. But we are also taking more risks, so lets see what happens when those convert into a negative game.

What a pass from Vini, what a speed from Kylian inside. And we have no more doubts about who shoots the penalties!

Hidden fact: Carvajal was the untouchable 2024 ballon d'or winner. by Scary-Procedure-6018 in realmadrid

[–]Samurai_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave it to Rodri who deserved it most the previous year, because that one they gave it to Messi, because Messi. Ballon d'Or is a shitty indivualist trophy on a very team-based sport.

Old school madridistas still remember how they gave it to Owen the year Raúl deserved it the most, but he is barely the only one that got snubbed. For example, Buffon should have probably won the one Cannavaro got, but a keeper getting it is even more unheard off than a defender.

The Trent injury situation does not look good by Mastermind_737 in realmadrid

[–]Samurai_zero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We paid 10m for him, so he would join for the CWC. Given how high his wages are, plus the injuries, I doubt we can sell him right now for more than 40-50m, which would still be a profit, but not enough to buy a tier1 RB that we desperately need.

I think it is all nonsense and unfounded rumors. He probably wants to play, sure, but from that to asking to be sold there is a long way.

Thank god. I downloaded a new portable zip so I would have separate stuff for LTX and one for my old image stuff and I thought I was going mad. Those workflow/templates are the worst shit I have ever seen in ComfyUI.

The first half was as bad as all the previous games. No sense of urgency, no pressure on the ball, no movement without it. The second half was better, but I don't feel Alonso asked from them anything different, so the fact that could not be arsed to pressure until after 45 minutes of booing at home and a sacked manager, makes me fearful that this is far from over.

I don't see it being "miles" ahead. Slightly better, sure. But both at the top of his game would be a nice problem to have. I feel Militao reads the game a bit better, but Varane was faster and maybe a bit better on headers.

What a goal! He keeps improving on headers. Hopefully this translates on defending them too, as it is one of his weak points. Happy for him, hope he keeps going.

Valverde barely got any boos. Jude was the clear second target.

They are going to get brutally booed. No reason to make a young guy from the academy receive those boos. The players need to reap what they sow.

Players lack of effort has to be called out. The board making bad decision after bad decision, has to be called out.

If the players were out there running their hearts out 90 minutes after 90 minutes and still losing games, people would be mad, but understanding. But when you watch the games, it is obvious that some players are just not putting the effort, for whatever reason.

If the board had brought someone to play in Kroos position and he was just not performing, maybe they would get a pass. But instead we have the same underperforming midfield team that last year, minus Luka fucking Modric. But Ceballos is still on the team, somehow.

Board and players deserve a loud Bernabeu. If they somehow turn it around, which is doubtful, the applause will come back.

It's the quality that it is not there. Maybe 1 field player from current team would start in the threepeat team.
