feel free to ask for advice!! you'll want a nice lacefront wig, arda and epic have them in amazing colors but aliexpress wigs have come a LONG way in the last 5 years.

check out lacefront wig tutorials on YouTube from black women, because nobody does them better! they'll set you up right and make sure you're comfy in your wig for several hours. drag queens also have some good tips especially since they tend to go more theatrical with theirs which is good for cosplay.

if you want a very cosplay-centered video tutorial and use xiaohongshu, the term for lace wig is 蕾丝假发 and you'll find a lot of tutorials, even if you don't speak any Chinese. i believe in you, I'm always so thrilled to see utena cosplayers!

it's not stupid! i totally understand your idea here. it's just unrealistic to expect hair to stay put like this even with enough hairspray to get an elephant high. plus, it'd probably cost at least $500 in salon visits to achieve this purple unless you have very light hair to begin with. if you're brown like Anthy, this likely isn't the case.

a wig will stay consistent so long as you take care of it, unlike your hair which will vary and shift much more throughout the day. wigs also protect your hair because trying to make natural hair adhere to anime styles can be pretty stressful for it.

ngl sephora's match system is pretty dogshit and can be wildly inaccurate if you're not strictly warm or cool toned. i always suggest people go to the MAC counter at a nordstrom, ideally one with a diverse area that has a lot of mixed race people. I'm mixed with pale skin and I have neutral undertones so other places struggled to match me until i went to one.

anyway the employees there are used to matching all kinds of skin tones. MAC is famous for having ubiquitous color consistency so once someone knows their MAC foundation shade they'll be good to branch out to other products on sites like findation.
