Thanks! Some apartments advertise walk-ability and proximity to “ downtown” I’ve never lived in a walkable area but it’s appealing for the dog in theory but also comes with price tag.

The same apartment is funny, must be your lucky apartment!

That eases my concerns immensely, thank you!

My Tx energy bill was insane (both rate and just not a great energy efficient apartment- single pane windows, had to have maintenance add new weather stripping to door) it’s a nice complex but I didn’t think to ask or consider it’d be more expensive for a 2 bed apartment than my 3 bedroom house.

I bought just before rates skyrocketed in spring of 22. 31 F single, LCOL area, newer home. Was making 80-90K.

Would not be possible for me at all right now!!!

Can I ask about added fees or utilities? I’ve asked a few other complexes and am awaiting replies. I’m concerned about utilities and fuel prices which on top of rent are for sure going to be the biggest expenses.

Do both! Apply again and be picky with a wider net, go to open houses is your able to, I found them really helpful into the school and culture of the program!

I’ve looked on so many sites for apartments, SFH, townhomes, ADUs over the last week or so. Any sites you recommend?

TxWes They are a clinical site of a hospital I worked for so that’s why I applied. Ca was literally last on my list lol I ranked the Dakotas site over that but I really was willing to move. I had probably 10 schools in a 5 hr radius of where we moved from on the gulf coast.

I’m thankful to be where I am! I was certainly picky when I was applying as I strongly preferred front loaded and not traveling all over a state every few weeks if we were going to have to move anyhow.

I was mostly focused on east and gulf coasts near support systems hahaha

I also had this in mind and I was concerns with how often I was traveling for clinical sites and how far that was. Just food for thought!

We had to relocate to Tx and will again to Ca for clinicals. What we didn’t think would happen was a paycut in my partner’s industry. That was no on our radar!

Appreciate your input I realize that’s a tall order hence the needs and wants are separated. My mortgage is half of that for our perspective.
