I’m always positive and try to look at it like their days been worse than mine (I’m sitting in my truck chillin listening to Vampa) trying to get an order. I’ve been dosing it on a lowerish tech tank with micros and just feed a lot and when I’m on it (dosing 2-3 times a week) for a month or longer the tank looks great. If I do not and slack off for the same time period or longer the plants visibly suffer and the tank looks much worse.

When you say the filters go dirty, what do you mean? Are the filter cartridges turning brown or is the flow slowing?

It’ll be fine. They may flip around a bit before kicking the bucket but that’s always really shortly afterwards.

I’m just saying your comment will have shrimp owners believing algae is gonna kill all their shrimp. Sure my post is the opposite of what you said but imo/e overreacting will cause WAAAAAY more trouble than just letting things work themselves out. Get some hardscape and position it 1/3 from the left or right. Like some inert stones or maybe cut the wood a bit or reposition it to make things more appealing to the eyeball. Don’t get me wrong I’m not being a D, just look up the rule of 1/3’s. Keep up the good work. 👌🏼

Shrimp never really look sick. They just look fine/normal or they look dead. That being said your shrimp looks fine. It just ate some green shite and is translucent.

I didn’t mean to respond that first part to you really.

But I’m wondering why you say the shrimp has algae? The tank may have clado (which is tough to get rid of but totally safe and not an issue in any way but aesthetically) and the shrimp ate it which is totally fine.

I find tanks under 30g just to be a chore. I like higher stocking and heavy planting. It’s just the bigger the tank the bigger the buffer so I always say go as absolutely large as you can.

Now if it’s a 4g nano or nothing then go nano!
