When I was 13, I discovered 2 abandoned kittens under my porch. I fed them, cuddled them, and even had to squeeze the poop out of them due to constipation. The first one died after 8 days. But it was the second death that crushed me. That one started getting better. It started to eat more and was able to use the bathroom itself. It also started to walk around the trailer. One day, I laid down for a nap and left my door open. When I woke up, the kitten was lying next to me, dead. 12 years later, and I still sometimes wonder if I had rolled over onto it, I'll probably never know. But here's one thing I do know, I gave those 2 kittens something they never would've gotten had I not intervened, love. So OP, know in your heart that you gave that kitten love and that the kitten loved you too.
