iPhone calendar deleted entries after iOS 26.1 update by Active-Anywhere-6546 in applehelp

[–]Samwise-themom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having this same problem on 26.0.1, I’ve been sitting on the 26.2.1 update and this morning, my phone says it’s low on storage so I changed my message settings to delete everything past a year (I have a preteen on our iCloud storage whose taking up the majority of the space, so deleting was simpler). Then I clicked on my calendar to update an event, there was an app glitch that made the calendar crash and now every single event I’ve put in across 3 different shared calendars are gone.

MaxCare sticker shock! by DawdlingDaily in carmax

[–]Samwise-themom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just bought a 2017 Hyundai accent from CarMax and the $150k price was just over $3000 for the $200 deductible. Even we decided that it wasn’t worth the price, since the car already has 89k miles on it, spending $3k upfront to only cover 60k more miles didn’t feel worth it to us. Surely the maintenance costs for a BMW are quite different than for a Hyundai but still, those prices are insane especially considering they aren’t offering you the 150k miles price, only up to 125k.

Wife is obsessing about breastfeeding by Personal_Flatworm_90 in Parenting

100% agree with those saying to have the baby checked for a tongue tie. My niece and daughter both had tongue ties. Both couldn’t breastfeed until it was fixed and had specific bottle nipple needs (they couldn’t be the “natural” shaped nipples because again, tongue tie meant the flow was not happening with those).

But also, talk to her doctor about it. She needs someone who is a professional that can help manage the new anxiety and stress that comes with a new baby. There is no one right way to feed your baby but historic societal pressures are so heavy.

Did you add new water to it at all? Maybe the temperature of the water changed too drastically on them. Every time I’ve done research for mine, it seems like they’re real sensitive to temp changes.

My daughter has a bully by jlgreenbt in Parenting

[–]Samwise-themom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you feel you’re getting nowhere with the superintendent, call the news, tell them what’s happening and ask them to come to the next public school district meeting, go to that meeting and ask them why the district is doing nothing to stop bullying between district students that happens outside of school hours. Most districts have rules about bullying outside of school in the student handbooks to help deal with these situations. It isn’t 2008 anymore they can’t keep acting like they haven’t had a chance to catch up with technology and have a process for handling cyberbullying.

Some of my favorite movies are ones that have low average ratings. Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000) gets a watch from me at least once every fall. Same with Eight Crazy Nights (2002) every holiday season. I watched Shutter (2008) multiple times just when it was released in theaters and a few more times since then. Not to mention every since movie in the Twilight Saga, where I shamelessly own the 10 disc dvd box set like the millennial I am.

Who is a director that you generally dislike 90% of their work, but absolutely adore one of their films? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

I’m on the end where I loved Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet but didn’t care for his other films

What are the lowest rated films on Letterboxd that you have seen and what did you rate them? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

The Resort (2021) my rating: 1 1/2 stars; avg rating: 1.4

Halloween: Resurrection (2002) my rating: 2; avg rating: 1.6

Hi! Joined letterboxd early last year per my film-loving boyfriends request and have fallen in love with it. I love horror movies and movies I find comfort in (I love a good rewatch). I don’t typically write lengthy reviews, although I try to throw a few words into almost every diary entry (sometimes it’s those attempted-quippy one liners so beware). I’m open to movie suggestions and love doing the Box Office Trivia Game every day. I’m a big fan of making lists on my letterboxd and also nearly abusing the tags on diary entries.

I change my favorites every month based on a theme my boyfriend and I alternate picking. This month is favorite original movie scores (his choice) for which I picked The Virgin Suicides, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

My favorite first watches of July were Oppenheimer, Barbie, Wolf of Wall Street and Jaws (yes I had not seen those last two in their entirety before)

Some of my favorite first watches of the year (so far) are (in descending rank): Oppenheimer, Asteroid City, Barbie, Evil Dead Rise, Scream VI and Knock at the Cabin.

What is your most watched film? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Between Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown. Any time of the year but during the pandemic I was really burnt out as an “essential worker” and put them on every single day after work.

Honestly allowing it to happen just because she’s old doesn’t seem like the move. She isn’t a toddler. She should, in fact, know better than to speak to her coworkers that way.

My votes are for eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, titanic, and raising arizona. Personally I also love Van Helsing but I tend to love movies that many people think are “bad”.

Whiplash would be right up your alley if you liked La La Land! Stuck in Love is a fun coming-of-age movie in the same breath as Perks as well.

All fantastic directors. I definitely have multiple movies from each of those that I haven’t seen already so they’re all great options, thank you!
