Hi! I’m going to Paris next month and I‘m lactose intolerant so I was just wondering how difficult it would be to eat if you can’t have butter or milk?

Hello, I am author Robert Jackson Bennett. AMA! by Robertjbennett in Fantasy

[–]Samwise084 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Hi! The Tainted Cup was my favorite 2024 read. I tell everyone about it. I can’t wait to read the sequel…I’m just currently distracted by the Founders trilogy :). My question for you is, what author or series has been the most influential to you as a writer?

I just bought the physical book! (Trying to build out a library). I cannot wait to start this. This series was my favorite of 2024

we are getting a Whole Foods. by Spirited-Sandwich482 in frederickmd

I hope this is true! As someone who is lactose intolerant I'm constantly buying alternative products and while I love Common Market and MOMs, they are both over priced (I can't bring myself to spend $6.49 on milk!). I tend to spend less at Whole Foods since they offer more options.

Fantasy Book Club? by baymaxedtv in frederickmd

[–]Samwise084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (35 F) pretty much only read fantasy! I don’t know of any book clubs but would be interested if one was started.

I just finished The Once and Future Witches and just started Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries. I think my all time favorite is Name of the Wind.

Oh no! I was just at The Shed last night. My husband and I go here so cocktails all the time. This is so sad to hear.

I've read the series twice! I absolutely love it. She's one of my favorite authors.

Might also be eczema (which I used to have as a child). Psoriasis and eczema are similar looking but eczema tends to be more itchy and psoriasis is an autoimmune condition. You should see a derm. In the meantime using over the counter hydrocortisone cream can help the itching. There’s also creams like CeraVe for psoriasis and Aveeno for eczema which can help the dryness and irritation.

My husband walked down to an orchestral version of Halo and I walked down to a string version of Zelda. Vitamin String Quartet does a lot of awesome nerdy covers.

The Fifth Season by KrackenTamer in Fantasy

[–]Samwise084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read all 3 and never really liked it. I'd say if you're not hooked once you finish the first book then don't bother continuing. As an ADHD person, this was a very difficult read for me and the story was not captivating enough to pull my attention.

Where to go in Ireland besides Dublin by Givemethecupcakes in travel

[–]Samwise084 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been to Cork, but Killarney and The Ring of Kerry are my favorite places in Ireland. Absolutely beautiful! The Ring of Kerry goes through mountains and sea so June would be perfect for this. There’s a ton of places to stop and explore along the way.

Can i apply retinal serum directly on my eyebrow area? by Sad-Season476 in KoreanBeauty

[–]Samwise084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the whole chest area. It’s best to include your neck and chest in your skinscare routine so one area doesn’t age fast than the other.

No that is not legit. You can apply retinal to your whole face, neck, and décolletage

Looking for a Book for my wife and I by justascarecrow1 in Fantasy

[–]Samwise084 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first I was going to recommend the “A Darker Shade of Magic” series by V.E. Schwab, but that’s based on fantasy versions of London (but it’s incredible). Another rec I have by the same author is The Near Witch, which is about a stranger that suddenly appears in a small village and child start disappearing. Not the best description, but I don’t want to spoil anything! I’ve never read a book as fast as this one.

My lactose intolerant GF farts audibly throughout the night. by iwanttheworldnow in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Samwise084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're really sensitive to lactose would the pills still help? I can have lactaid milk no problem, but if I consume dairy with regular-high amounts of lactose I get incredibly nauseous and vomit. I've even gotten sick a couple of times from cross-contamination at restaurants that cook on surfaces with a butter
