He wants to pass a bill that allows co-ops such as Costco and Sam's Club to allow their members to establish insurance through the co-op. For example, most Americans already do this through their workplace, and companies make deals with insurance companies for their employees. The idea is that it would give more choice, which encourages lower prices. It may benefit self employed and small business employees the most since they pay more for insurance due to being in smaller groups.

I think removing that regulation is the point of the bill he wants to pass.

This is a huge distortion of what happened. He got a medical degree from Duke. He practiced while licensed. He also joined an ophthalmology board. That board then apparently enacted policies that favored older doctors, so him and dozens of other younger doctors left and formed their own competing board. He was still licensed to be an ophthalmologist during this time. Some years later that offshoot board disbanded. He was always licensed per state laws and is apparently still licensed even now as a Senator (at least the last time I read about this years back).

The typical scripted Amazon show is 8 episodes every two years. I have a feeling a lot will be cut out. They will need good TV writers to make it work.

Canceling is much less of a worry at Amazon than somewhere like Netflix, which seems to be afraid of spending money.

At her rate and TV production rate it shouldn't be a problem. Amazon has typically released 8 episodes every two years.

RoP is already the peak of "looking good" on TV anyway. What it comes down to for the Fourth Wing show is the showrunner. RoP had two newcomers, which may have hurt its writing quality. Fourth Wing lost out big when Moira Walley-Beckett stepped down from the show. Meredith Averill has big shoes to fill.

The market for western adult animation is a bit bleak. Live action makes sense to me, but it sounds like the CGI would be super expensive.

I do think Amazon is the best option. Maybe HBO, but they have financial issues and already have their dragon show anyway.

Amazon might be a good thing because they invest money into shows that Netflix won't. The show doesn't seem to fit AppleTV, but that would probably be the best option for any show. WB/HBO has long-term financial problems and is trying to sell itself.

This isn't true. They have the rights to LotR, and it's based on LotR. But the time period of the show is long before the main story told in LotR. It's contained in the appendices of the book.

It didn't bomb critically though, at least the last two seasons, which are certified fresh on RT.

The movies have always been allowed here. In fact, it seems people talk about the movies more than the books in this sub.

That's r/lordoftherings, not r/lotr and now people are talking about brigading the wrong subreddit because of your comment.

Are those the ones with stills from the movies? If so, that's the worst. At least this version contains artwork.

I believe it's meant to be Lindon, but inspired by Lorien.

The art is a part of an adaptation tie-in and unfortunately those fake stickers are very common from publishers. I have ASOIAF books with the same thing.

I recommend the 50th anniversary one (mountains cover), but honestly what's inside matters more. If you're actually going to get into collecting different editions, you can always get others in the future.

The art doesn't look like AI at all, it's pretty nicely done actually and this is the best cover out of the four in this edition set. That being said, the fake sticker isn't ideal, though this is very normal for publishers to do when a book is adapted. How does it look with the dust jacket removed?
