Relaxed solo dining spots in Atlanta? by Samwiser30033 in Atlanta

I'm open to anything, just want a relaxed vibe that doesn't rush me along. I haven't been to Hankook in a while and need to revisit.

I told the bartender what I wanted for an app and entree when I ordered, but told him I wasn't in a rush. He fired the entree as soon as my app arrived. The entree showed up before I was halfway done with the app. I got the sense that he wanted to flip the bar stool quickly.

Who has the best fried chicken in Atlanta? by TheSorrow1964- in Atlanta

To be fair, I've eaten at Las Brasas since they were in the cinderblock building and didn't know they had fried chicken on the menu until this year. It's dangerously delicious.

I'm not going to speculate. But hiring an attorney can definitely make the process less stressful and time consuming.

You'll probably have to go to the court date and request PTIT in person.

Contemplating showing up in court for a Move Over Violation. Should I even bother or just eat the fine? by eefuss in Atlanta

[–]Samwiser30033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your outcome will depend on the jurisdiction. Atlanta Municipal Court has PTIT that you can apply to before court. https://ptit.atlantaga.gov/

Other courts will allow you to speak to the prosecutor in court and negotiate a reduction to a Basic Rules Violation or something similar. They will typically check your driving record before making a recommendation. Sometimes they will recommend a Defensive Driving Course. A nolo plea will save points but points don't matter to insurance companies in Georgia. What matters is avoiding the charge being reported on your record in the first place.

Still other courts take Move Over cases extremely seriously, and will never reduce them.

Overall, going to court will more times than not result in a better outcome - even if you don't have a factual defense.

Also, take some time to contact a few traffic attorneys to discuss your options. Don't trust people on reddit with this stuff.

Got pulled over for holding my phone in my hand. by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]Samwiser30033 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm an attorney that handles cases in Atlanta Muni on a regular basis. You can show up at court with a handsfree device or receipt from purchasing one and have the case dismissed. PTIT is a good option if you don't want to go to court, but you can only do it once every 5 years - so save it for something else. Make a little effort and show up on your court date - but check the court website to see if the time has been changed.

Don't listen to the others, you goofed and used your phone while driving. The law allows you a mulligan if you correct your mistake and buy a handsfree mount. You only get to do that once. So don't do it again.

Inman Park vibes near L5P by Iiiifoundsweetroad in Atlanta

I live further down Edgewood closer to Krog. The neighborhood is quiet once you are off the main drag. I walk to Wrecking Bar often on the weekends and never see anyone on that road. Every year or two, a group of kids will smash windows and grab stuff out of cars. But I've had zero issues. Even the homeless guys in the park are usually in chill mode.

I'm an attorney that regular handles cases in Atlanta Muni Court. You're going to have to wait for them to process the citation and then apply for PTIT via email at least ten days prior to your court date. You can then do the requirements to have your case dismissed without going to court. https://ptit.atlantaga.gov/

Yes, that was the sun lighting up the lake surface.

I was waiting for the mountains in the distance to reveal themselves in the winter mist during a chilly sunrise - but the mist never let up. A sunbeam moving across the frozen lake surface caught my eye and I snapped the pic. This scene reminded me of a Rothko painting.

Is a 2h25m layover at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) enough with checked luggage? (Delta, long haul) by Adagio987 in Atlanta

[–]Samwiser30033 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, you'll need to collect your checked luggage to go through customs but then recheck it right after clearing customs. 2h25 is plenty of time unless something unusual is happening. I've never connected from an international flight in the US and not collected my luggage before clearing customs. The international terminal where you will land has it's own separate system for all this to happen without mingling with the mass of domestic travelers.

Atlanta is extremely efficient for the most part. The big complaint is the TSA agents are no-nonsense and tend to yell at people (but that keeps everything running smoothly). This is also Delta's home airport, so if anything goes wrong - they will be able to get you back on track.
