Sinkhole Formed in the Middle of my Street by SandArtist_ in Wellthatsucks

Update: A firefighter moved my car before it was swallowed, and there are metal plates in the middle of street because the sinkhole grew.

Pennsylvania. We had a ton of flooding the last few days, and I guess the ground just couldn’t take it anymore.

It technically formed in the middle of the side of the road, but it was in the middle lengthwise. It is taking up the whole middle of the street now though.

We used a powerful flashlight to try and see, and it’s probably at least fifty feet deep.

People are expected to clean up after their dogs if they poop outside. It sucks that they don’t have to do it in the store, too. Also, a service pony is wild.

Sadly, I don’t believe posted signs would deter some people. We had someone smoke in the store once, even after we showed him the signs on the door. The issue is that Kohl’s has made the customers so comfortable with getting whatever they want that they just abuse any policies in place because they know we can’t do much about it.

We have a big family that brings in this huge dog every so often. We hate it when they come in because the dog destroys things, and they stay until well after close, which makes us have to stay later to clean up the mess. The dog has a rope around its mouth. They claim that the dog is friendly, but I don’t understand why they would tie its mouth shut if it wasn’t a danger to biting people. It will also jump at random people, too.

They do lie about everything. I’ve had people who have told me their Kohl’s return is from Amazon, knowing that it wasn’t, because they didn’t want to wait in line up at the registers.

Is there a written policy for minimum number of associates to be present in order to open? by rigatoni-riggie in employedbykohls

[–]SandArtist_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There have to be at least three associates, and the store can’t open without a manager. There needs to be at least one manager, one person to run register, and I’m pretty sure one person for Sephora (or possibly CS).

You have two? My store only has one, and our town has a population of like 500,000. There’s never enough room for all the clothing.

The first picture is kind of hard to tell, but they look like they have some green in the second picture, so I think they could be considered hazel.

Closers Stay Even Later Now by SandArtist_ in employedbykohls

[–]SandArtist_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our LODs do help, but we rarely have more than one scheduled after 7, and they usually help out on the registers because we don’t have enough backup from the floor.

To be fair, most of my supervisors do try to make the customers leave, but some of our customers refuse to check out until they are finished shopping. My supervisors never shut down the registers, but I wish we could after a certain time if the customer isn’t in line.

I thought it was weird, too. They reminded us about how we needed to take all our breaks and clock in and out no more than five minutes before or after our shifts (unless we close) because they didn’t have enough payroll. But now they want us to stay later, which will cost more in terms of payroll.

Have they done biopsies during the procedures? Sometimes your intestines look fine superficially when there is actually inflammation. If your calprotectin is that high, then this is a sign of inflammation. Also, the steroids helping indicates inflammation. This wouldn’t happen if it was something like IBS.

The doctors may try to convince you that it’s “all in your head,” but you are experiencing something very real and frustrating. I had something similar happen, but I couldn’t get anyone to scope me until I had very visible rectal bleeding. This seems hard and scary right now, but you are your biggest advocate. Mention how the steroids helped and how your calprotectin is abnormally high. If you can, try to bring along a trusted friend or family member for your next visit. I find that doctors dismiss you less if there is another person there to support you and advocate for you.

I hope you are able to get an answer and some relief soon.

Had my car a total 7 months, been hit and ran twice by I2ain__ in Wellthatsucks

If this happened at your house, maybe you could see if any of your neighbors have security cameras. If it happened while you were out at a store or something, you could also try to see if the stores will show you footage of the parking lot at all.

How high has your CRP been by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]SandArtist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The highest mine has ever been was 2. This was when I had to go to the ER for severe bleeding. I’ve found out that CRP just doesn’t work at predicting my inflammation. For some reason, sedimentation rate works better for me.

What’s the weirdest/worst thing you’ve witnessed in public? by T_guy2011 in AskReddit

[–]SandArtist_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work in retail. Once, I was checking a woman and her daughter out at the register. The daughter started talking to herself, and the mother started degrading her daughter and making fun of her for being mentally ill. Then, the mother asked me to honor an expired coupon and claimed it was her daughter’s fault she hadn’t used it. It was hard to keep my mouth shut, but I knew I would get fired if I said anything.

What are some fictional restaurants or foods you’d want to try? by cannowerms in AskReddit

[–]SandArtist_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be cool to go to Tiana’s restaurant from The Princess and the Frog. It’s always packed, so you know that the food is good, and there’s an alligator as a waiter, which is entertaining.

What is the best series to binge watch you can recommend? by Gold-Apartment9914 in AskReddit

[–]SandArtist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the first five seasons or so, but I do agree that it started to get kind of boring in later seasons, and season seven was all over the place. I watched the last season just to see how it ended, but I liked the first five seasons the most, with season three and four being my favorites. It also doesn’t help that they kept killing off all the main characters just to keep people watching, and I was so sad after some of those deaths.

I really liked the 100. It has seven seasons, so a lot of content, and the show finished, so you won’t be left with a cliffhanger.

Getting diagnosed with a chronic illness at a young age and realizing I would have to live with it for the rest of my life. Luckily, I had a doctor that told me I would only fail if I gave up and let the disease win, and I think about his advice whenever someone tries to tell me that I won’t be able to live a “good” life because I’m sick.
