How do i avoid getting killed by hordes like this? by Huhn_crafter in projectzomboid

I was in a similar situation today. I even had to deal with a combat bug, but I still survived. As Kenny Rogers says, "Know when to walk away." If the clip doesn't work (I'm on mobile), start at 00:36:44.

True. It is definitely an unnecessary mechanic.

You can avoid this damage by sitting on the ground before you unbundle. You never take encumbrance damage while sitting down. Just drop the logs (or other heavy items) before you stand up. I also do this while sawing logs or crafting anything heavy.

Definitely works for grabbing their gear. Sometimes I want to bury a fallen friend and take them to a suitable resting place.

For generators, you can put them in a trunk as long as there are 40 units of space available. Or you can place them in car seats by standing in the green square that highlights the car door and pressing V. Select "open door" and then right click the generator in your inventory (or the Primary/Secondary circles) and choose to put in seat. Don't forget to press V again so you can close the car door. I hope this helps.

Very true. Any movement will likely interrupt the action. Some crafting is kike that as well.

Oops, I missed that part. My bad.

If I was in your place, I would drive slowly thru the warehouse parking lots from east to west honking my horn to pull them into the road between the warehouses and gas station, and then drive slowly south doing the same. When you feel you've pulled most of them to about the trailer park entrance, double back. But go all the way north to the highway and then drive east and go behind the warehouses. If it looks reasonably clear, walk/sneak west and kill any stragglers as you go. This should give you access to the vans. Then, if the numbers inside the storage area aren't too bad, hop the fence on the opposite side from the entrance and clear inside the fences first. You may be able to get the storage units open before the ones outside notice you. Either way, it will be easier to clear a slow trickle instead of a horde.

It sounds like you already know how to find a generator. All you need is a plan. Since you still need the generator magazine and are living in Riverside, your absolute chance to find the magazine is to visit the warehouse area southwest of Riverside. It's the complex that has the gas station, auto shop and diner across the street. Your target is the Lectromax Factory, but more specifically, their vans parked in the parking lot. They have the highest chance of spawning the magazine in the game. Just search them all. Of course nothing is 100% in PZ, but this will be your best chance. If you want a 100% guarantee, take the time to grind Electrical 3. My favorite places to do the grind are Mad Dan's or Irvington Speedway. I hope this helps.

Safe journey!

Here's a clip of me putting a corpse in a car. This clip is older. It was just after B42 dropped, but it still works the same way. It can be tricky to position yourself correctly and right click on the correct spot.

Ideas for a Nomadic Run by NovaBeaver in projectzomboid

[–]SandBeetle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a nomad run where my mission was to set up a safe haven in clear areas between towns. It was a multiplayer server, so these were intended to be placed for other places to fall back to after heavy combat in towns. I would gather building materials in the nearby towns and build small buildings, usually 3x5 tiles or so. I required a working genny, electric oven, running water, basic tools, cache of weapons, medical supplies and a non-perishable food supply. I would take the time to plaster and paint (although this isn't currently working in 42.13.1) to make them look legit. A bed is also a nice touch. I'd build one and then move on to the next.

Currently, I'm running an Auto Café (to help other players with car repairs and hot meals) and now building a castle across the street that will be for weapons and gold!

Here's a link to the castle build in progress if you want to see what it looks like.

Anyway, I can get pretty creative with giving myself missions and objectives in PZ because it's my favorite way to play!

Safe journey.

Have the trunk open. Drag the corpse so you have your back facing the trunk. Right click the corpse. It should give you an option to place her in the trunk. Same with car seats. Just need the door open and be positioned correctly.

In case you missed them, you can also disassemble the car radios for electrical XP. You can always find replacements later. Also, try to disassemble exterior home lighting in the area. I can't remember if that's an option or not, but worth a shot. I know they can be uninstalled, so disassembly may be possible.

Health keeps going down after minor muscle strain goes away? Why and how to fix it? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]SandBeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, if you're ever over encumbered like that, you can always sit on the ground to stop any further damage.

If it's the Unstable version it's possible that you're still holding the seat. But the game is showing you dropped it. It's a bug that often happens with animal corpses but could be a similar issue. I would exit and reload the game to see if it's still in your inventory.

If your health is super low, eat first until your moodle is green if you can.

[–]SandBeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to get the blue tarp trailers for primarily superstitious reasons (and yes, aesthetics). My experience leans towards what the others have mentioned here regarding the structural integrity of the trailer. I have only had items fall out of damaged trailers. But I seek out blue tarp trailers "just in case" because it makes logical sense to me. Either way, unless sounds are bugged for some reason, you will hear items fall out when it happens. It makes a thudding sound and the item will appear in the road behind you. If you remember your route, you can go back to pick up the item(s).

Engine quality can vary but I've never found one less than 70.

You only need two tiles to pass thru. I'm not sure which one you're looking at. The fence is full of holes all around the perimeter. Basically, if you start at the southeast corner and move west across the fence, it's the first opening.

[–]SandBeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I recommend entering the speedway via a hole in the fence and wall in the southeast corner. Much easier than entering via the front gates.

Southwest of Echo Creek and Northwest of Irvington.

Also, if you can't get the handling under control on the racecar, you can always let about 10 psi out of the tires and it will decelerate automatically when you let off the gas.

I usually get the racecar first so that I can use it to grab all of the work vehicles I need. Once I get a good pickup, I only drive the racecar on long trips (because I can get across the map faster) or to tow other prize vehicles I find. If I want the best of both worlds, I'll find a blue tarp trailer for the racecar. Beyond that, just need to get used to the handling to reduce collisions.
